Endorsements: Barack Obama for president
The Sacramento Bee ^ | October 14, 2012 | Editorial

Posted on 10/14/2012 5:55:08 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Voters often say they want their elected leaders to keep their promises and, at crucial moments, show real political backbone. President Barack Obama deserves a second term largely because he has delivered on both of these fronts.

... Obama – unruffled by Looney Tunes claims that he is a "socialist" and a "Marxist" – has pursued a consistent, moderate path that has pulled this country back from the brink and put it on a path toward recovery. In a second term, with just a little help from Congress, he could finish the job and pursue other priorities, including upgrading transportation infrastructure, reinvesting in higher education and making the United States a leader in clean energy technologies.

By contrast, Romney has been all over the map on climate change, health care reform and fiscal policy, and he seems determined to lead us into a costly war in Iran, regardless of the consequences.

We've seen this script before. We don't want it again. We'd urge you to return President Obama to the White House for a second term.

I promise to cut the deficit in half - nope.

I promise to close Gitmo - nope.

You’ll be able to keep your current insurance - not exactly.

Yeah, he’s a great promise keeper, isn’t he?

$16 Trillion in debt, $1 Trillion annual deficits and 8% unemployment is the path to recovery? We need a different path!

The Bee was once a credible newspaper. Now, it proffers much of the Looney Tunes it professes to see under Obama’s bed. Wile E. Coyote has moved further west and now resides in Sacramento as the alleged purveyor of news. Though the Bee says it’s business is spreading the news, what it actually spreads, to quote Col. Potter, is mule cookies. The mixed metaphors are actually accurate.

Unsuprised that a completely UberLiberal HyperDemocrat newspaper in a Socialist state would support Obama.

The fact that they have to mention, and denigrate, the obvious observations that Obama is a flat-oout Marxist, is what they call a "poker tell".

What planet did this article come from?

Maybe Rip Van Winkle wrote this and after sleeping the last 4 years woke up and is reciting something he dreamed.

Is this an attempt at a joke?

For crying out loud. This whole thing is like digging up a few frames of “The Last Temptation of Christ a thousand years from now and using it as “new evidence” about who He really was.

It is absurd on the face of it, whether it be genuine or not.

I guess in order to decide if Obama kept his promise or not you first need to decide just what it was that he promised.

He promised to do a few things which he did not do, like cutting the deficit and unemployment.

The things that he promised to reform is a dangerous thing to reform and in that he is keeping his promise, the same reform that the communists did in the eastern bloc countries that brought them to destruction.

And again in Europe where the turmoil is mounting each day.

Any one who can not see what happened in the communist countries and the terror they spread throughout the world and can not see what is happening in Europe and America today most likely voted for Obama.

I did not vote for Obama because i knew that he would most likely keep his promises.
