WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – President Obama is making no more jokes about how much he dislikes debate prep.
Asked by a reporter during a pop-in at a Williamsburg campaign office how his studying is going, the president responded with a quick: “It is going great!”
The difference is palpable compared to what he told supporters outside Las Vegas while studying for his calamitous Denver debate.
“Basically they're keeping me indoors all the time," Obama said then. "It's a drag. They're making me do my homework."
If Obama is interested in playing hooky from his debate practice -- where aide Anita Dunn is playing the role of Candy Crowley and Sen. John Kerry is reprising his role as Mitt Romney -- he doesn’t have to go far. The president’s hotel here, the posh Kingsmill Resort, is also hosting a Ferrari car show Sunday.
The day’s message from Team Obama continues the campaign’s vow of contrition from the first debate and vows to do better Tuesday night at Hofstra University on Long Island.
“The president is his own harshest critic and he knows Mitt Romney had a better night at the first debate,” campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said. “The American people should expect to see a much more energized President Obama making a passionate case for why he is a better choice for the middle class.”

Under the circumstances, what’s he supposed to say?
I thought the Prez, in a recent interview, thought he did well and it became apparent that he was in “Obamaland”, a “State of shocked denial,” over the “truth” of the debate outcome.
It is a shame that there is absolutely no person within this administration that has the integrity to tell the truth and take responsibility for anything. This cannot be going unnoticed by the American voter.
Joe Biden showed what is popular with the Democrat base.
So Obama comes on stage with that kind of attitude, he will look exactly like an “angry black man”, Richard Pryor or Chris Rock. With maybe a little of Keith Ellison thrown in.
I say, good for him. This will play well with the activists, and the fringes, but there is a good probability that it will backfire big time with the “moderate” middle.
Mr. “Well-spoken” will go away, perhaps for all time, with this display of seething rage and snorting contempt we could expect. But the playbook says, attack, and attack again, using the most hurtful of charges, and if the opponent disproves the validity of the charge, using patience and logic, wait about five minutes, and make it again. Really pound on class warfare, gender warfare, and need I say it, race in every subtle and not so subtle way it can be worked in.
It is a nuanced application of that old courtroom trick of lawyers, applied to debate. If the facts are against you, argue the theoretical, and if the theories are against you, argue the facts (carefully selected, of course). If both the theories and facts are against you, pound the table and loudly make ad hominem assertions about your opponent.
If you are going down in flames, make the show as spectacular as possible.
I suppose no one in the press will ask if Obama is spending so much time sequestered in debate prep, then who is running the country?

Look for a manic, overtalking Obama who will obey no debate rule.
Look for an attacking Obama who will spit out 20 lies in 20 seconds, making it impossible to respond.
Look for an Obama who will not respond to any attack, but instead will respond to an attack by issuing 20 attacks.

It'll be hilarious if, in sitcom-like fashion, he mixes up those memorized answers! To wit:
Fake Citizen #1: Mr. President, why were you hesitant to reply on Libya?
Putzident: Mitt Romney wants to give millionaires a $5 billion tax cut!
Fake Citizen #2: Mr. President, how does Obamacare affect my small business?
Putzident: The information we had from the State Department assured us that a video was responsible for the tragedy!
He can just give the same responses he did in 2008...

How his studying is going? A president with a clear vision and clear conscience should be ready on a moments notice to debate ideas. I just don’t get it.
He’ll pass out a bunch of free Obama phones which says on the back “Vote for me.” This guy is CLUELESS, his ego is huge and he thinks everyone adores him
