As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney.
"Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday. "His running mate also left him vulnerable on a number of issues -- admitting there was a $5 trillion tax cut, after he denied it, but again failing to explain how they would pay for it, leaving women worried about their ability to make choices about their own health care and failing to articulate their plan for winding down our presence in Afghanistan."
It's significant that Psaki previewed the president's next clash with Romney with an immediate mention of his time at Bain, a word Obama never mentioned during the first presidential debate, in Denver.
Senior campaign adviser David Axelrod said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama is making adjustments before the debate and plans to be more aggressive.
Axelrod also referred to Romney's investment capital career before entering politics.

Considering the strategy is not exactly shocking (the reports of what Biden would do were true after all), I doubt Obama will do what he needs to win, which is present his second term plans and explain what he will do. Instead, he will attack Romney, getting the wrong lessons from Biden.
Thank goodness....
All eyes will be on Obama. He is the one who has to improve his performance and everyone will be looking for it. When he doesn’t deliver - he can’t - he will blow a gasket - off camera after it’s over. Moochelle will be mighty pissed too. Can’t wait!
Oh, as for the Regressive moderators- bring 'em. Romney was getting ganged up on during the GOP primaries, against opponents FAR better than Obama or some Regressive media hack (Gingrich, Santorum, Cain). His senses are honed, sharpened, and he knows exactly what he's doing. B. Hussein will be reduced to a simpering puddle of slug slime by the time Romney's through with him.
there remains a net decrease of 316,000 jobs since the start of Obamas presidency
But liar Obama says he created 5 million jobs.
It’s always risky to try to be something you’re not.
I see it panning out as something like Randy Couture, challenger, and Richard Simmons, incumbent, in the Octagon.
It ain’t gonna be pretty. (For the Democrats.)
OK, we’ll see yer Bain and raise you Benghazi. Bring it.
Obama can try to dwell on Bain during the economy portion, even though Romney left Bain a dozen years ago. When Romney focuses on Obama's handling of the economy, Obama will deflect and say it's time to look forward.
Look backwards for Romney, but forwards for Obama.
Then comes the foreign affairs portion of the debate. Obama will try to blame Romney for the Middle East, saying his trip during the Olympics set the stage for what happened later.
Romney better focus on how can Obama, as an executive, be so removed from the goings on in his departments? The only explanation for the disconnect between Intelligence, State, and the White House, is an incompetent executive who doesn't know how to manage.
Hit Obama on why he was not in the loop of his own administration. Ask him why he didn't proactively try to find out information instead of waiting for others to come to him. Ask him why he missed so many daily briefings and held practically no cabinet meetings? Ask what the American people are to make of a President who is so disengaged with his own staff?

And as he did in the first debate with his story about his 5 BOYS trying to spin yarns to him, he’ll obliterate Obunga “elegantly.”
Moochelle will have her teeth showing! She almost makes “Aunt Esther” look attractive! Or not!
absolutely, let Bozo again deny Benghazi was a terrorist attack and/or blame Hillary. Biden saying ‘we didn’t know’ should be a campaign ad of epic proportions!
>> “But liar Obama says he created 5 million jobs.” <<
“Offshore.”
That would be a great line for Romney to use.
When Obama says he created 5 million jobs Romney should say “yes You Obama say you created 5 million jobs , only problems is you created 5 million jobs in China but you added 6 trillion $ in debt on the USA and lost millions of jobs in the U.S.A creating the lowest workforce participation in 30 years, so maybe you are getting that confused. The % of adults who have jobs is the lowest ever in America.”
the media will try to get Romney to talk about foreign policy and Romney’s “gaffes” etc , but Americans care about the economy and Romney should talk about the economy ,no jobs, higher gas prices, lower incomes, increase in foodstamps , the decline of America etc.
Oh yeh, the eye-rolling sarcasm - so appealing in a leader of the free world. not. God forbid he should just have great ideas and present them to the public for their consideration. Obama’s voice turns my stomach - I think it is because of the Holy Spirit in me.
Yes, he does not love his country, the citizenry he serves, the country he represents to the rest of the world. I hope he goes down in flames.
