Vince Cable: Europe could be plunged into war if Euro collapses

Vince Cable has warned that Europe could be plunged into war if the crisis in the eurozone results in the collapse of the currency.

The Liberal Democrat Business Secretary said that the potential consequences of the failure of the Euro were "incalculable" and that there was "no automatic guarantee" that the continent would not disintegrate into conflict. …

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, Mr. Cable said: "I think we need to take stock that if the eurozone were to unravel in a way that destroyed the European project—and there is a risk that could happen—the consequences would be absolutely incalculable. We tend to forget, until we were reminded last week of that Nobel Prize, the European project was constructed in order to rescue Europe from extreme nationalism and conflict. There is no automatic guarantee that won't return." …

Horse manure.
The only "war" will be between the political class elites and the government-addicted parasite class.
Ping me when the cities start to burn. And post lots of pictures, woo-HOO!

We can all get to see the kind of America Ubama and the rats want.

Well, for starters, countries like Germany might want to get their money back from places like Greece. Gunboat diplomacy is the oldest way in the book to get back loans.

Alright, that is a pretty long shot, I’ll admit, but chaos, mass rioting, and anarchy in many European countries, with armed forces having to be called out to try and put a stop to the violence, that could potentially happen.

“Other than the Brits, what would they use?”

You’re kidding, the British military is over. Their Army is half the size of the US Marines, filled with people earning a paycheck who are horrified they will offend anybody. They actually have more Generals than tanks! The RAF has nothing bigger than a tactical fighter jet, and nothing but buddy tankers.
Their Navy is finished. Iranians in a motorboat can freely capture boarding parties WITHIN SIGHT of the mother “warship”. Speaking of surface warships, their entire surface warfare fleet is 4 destroyers and 12 frigates. They have 6 fleet submarines. And they have no carriers now. The Sea Harriers are long gone too.

The Japanese Navy far exceeds the British capability. The vaunted British military is over despite anglophiles who wish for old England. But the truth is they are gutted. They are nothing but a burden to the Afghanistan mission, costing more than they contribute.
US Marines have had to adjust to the sensibilities of British “NATO” commanders numerous times in deployment, tactics, etc.

The main thing the Brits produce anymore is a few worthy commandos, and an endless stream of staff officers and generals, eager for a joint NATO position. Facts.
The Swiss Army is easily twice as powerful as the British.
Kinda sad to see a once strong force gutted, to spend more on welfare. We are going to see it here if the big-eared clown gets re-elected.

Why is that a long shot? Remember that the EU elites wanted a crisis to emerge from the euro so that they could “break taboos” and exert more centralization over their member states.

I didn’t know it had gotten THAT bad. I’d worked with line RAF and RN units in the 1980s, and they were pretty sharp troops back then.

And, of course, the SAS, SBS, and what remains of the Ghurkas are still kick-ass troops. . .

Productive countries like Germany and Finland won’t be willing to carry the Siesta Bloc on their backs forever.

Well, since the Germans are being asked to pay for it, I’m sure they are going to want some vacation. . . Lebensraum. . . . (evil grin)

With what? They’re all busy disarming. France, England, and Italy didn’t have enough ordnance to take on Libya; Spain Greece, and Portugal are gutting their military spending because of budget constraints. Another year or two there won’t be anything left.

There WILL be war, but it won't be country-vs-country, it will be underclass-vs-middle-class. Look at Greece. Look at Spain. Visualize Europe the day they have to admit they don't have the money to send out the benefits checks. Visualize Europe when the native benefits-recipients demand the expulsion of Muslim immigrants in order to have more money for their benefits and more jobs for native job-seekers.

When it happens, look hard at Europe, and see how things will be in the US if we don't change course.

-——Who exactly would fight this war?-——

I would think the opening skirmish could be the Bundesbank calling all loans and freezing the relations with foreign banks.

A simultaneous ditching of the Euro and establishment of the Supermark would allow commerce within the German borders and create problems everywhere else.

Look into some of the German revanchism in regards to the Sudetenland, Silesia and South Tyrol, in that case. It’s definitely going on.
