With help from the likes of tough-guy actor Chuck Norris, the National Rifle Association wants to make sure pro-gun voters don't take their rights for granted this election season. And the group wants to see President Obama defeated.
"We believe that gun owners and hunters can make a difference," says Stephanie Samford, an NRA spokeswoman. Wisconsin is a swing state. Wisconsin matters."
Thus, the NRA has bought more than $1.3 million in TV ads in Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio and Virginia, Samford says.
The Defend Freedom, Defeat Obama ad tells viewers the president is chipping away at our Second Amendment rights.

While the NRA continues to paint Obama as a threat to gun owner rights, the president isn't feeling the love from gun control groups either.
Many were unhappy that he supported a regulation passed under his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, allowing visitors to national parks to carry concealed, loaded weapons.
Despite a legal challenge, the regulation took effect shortly after Obama took office in January 2009.

The comments are telling - it appears only committed leftists inhabit the site, or perhaps only they are allowed to comment.
No bias in that headline! Nope, none at all.
Of course they play to people’s fears, that’s one of the ways that organisations generate revenue and support...just look here on FR

GOOD!
--the Craptimes is probably the most left-leaning garbage wrap in the contiguous 48, next to outright CPUSA press releases---
--the progun letter-to-the-editor writers always do show up , both here and on the Milwaukee J-S anti-gun stuff---
Two factors have put a completely different spin on the gun control debate:
1. The fear of violence that has resulted in a massive sales of guns for the last for years. It will be about 60 to 65 million for Obama’s 4 years, many of them new gun owners. It has also become fashionable to own a gun, which is the first time in my life I have seen this.
2. Fast and Furious has defined the actual approach to gun control by this administration:
a. Anything goes, including violating our law and international law.
b. Hispanics are cannon fodder for this administration’s domestic policies. Just kill enough of them and you get gun control.
I am not sure why the administration thought that Fast and Furious would result in support for more gun control. It has had just the opposite effect.
“It has also become fashionable to own a gun, which is the first time in my life I have seen this.”
Earlier this year I took a friend and colleage, a liberal NY attorney who was in Texas for a business trip, to a gun range—first time that person had ever fired a gun of any sort—had a great time.
This would have never happened 10 years ago.
Clearly, they did not expect to get caught! Consider that if it were not for the new media, Fast and Furious would never have seen the light of day, as the MSM has consistently spiked the story, and never would have gone there on their own.
The administration relied on their allies in the MSM. The MSM did not disappoint them, but they do not control the new media.
I certainly hope so.
This summer obama said he would reconsider the AWB. That’s not an unbiased fear; that’s a fact.
