(CNSNews.com) – Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States, said on Friday that the United States is in the “midst of a huge recovery” because of what “this president has done.”
In an interview, Pablo Sato, co-host of Pablo & Free on WPGC 95.5, a D.C.- metropolitan area hip-hop radio station, asked the first lady, “Mrs. Obama, you know what, in your words, tell us what you think the state of the union is in right now?”
Mrs. Obama said, “I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right? Because of what this president has done.”
Free: “Yes.”
Obama: “Pulled this economy from the brink of collapse when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Now were gaining every -- throughout most of his presidency, we’ve been adding jobs to this economy because of what he’s been doing. The stock market has doubled. Housing prices are rising. Foreclosure rates are lowering. But in the face of that, you still have people trying to convince us that things aren’t better.”
Free: “Uh huh.”
Obama: “And that just doesn’t make sense. Now, Barack of all people knows that we still have a long way to go to completely rebuild the economy. But we’re headed in the right direction. And when you see all of that truth, it’s hard to understand why are people blocking this? Why are people talking about not raising taxes on wealthy people? Why is it that people don't want to fight to make sure that veterans have job opportunities?”
Free: “They just like to talk, Mrs. Obama.”

Liar. We lost 750 thousand jobs for one month. That was bushs last month in office. There was no loss of 800 thousand jobs “a month”, plural.
Yes, Michelle, we are in the midst of a huge recovery. It’s called an election. After November 6 the recovery will accelerate. After January 20 it will be in full swing.

The Associated Press will not cover Obama's so-called gaffe, much less give it its deserved ridicule. Nor will Reuters or any of the network or cable news wire services. Ergo, no independent voter will see or hear Mrs. Obama's statement, much less see or hear it denounced and ridiculed.
The recovery will start on Nov 7th.
Retail sales jumped 1.1% in September, boosted by higher gas prices and electronic sales, (and cars) according to the Census Bureau. Analysts expected a 0.7% rise.
So if your economic world consisted of selling gasoline and Ipads, you’re jumping up and down with delight, right?
Why is gasoline and food not included in the government calculation for interest rate changes in the economy, and then touted showing the recovery is in progress as an increase in retail sales?

We are seeing signs of it locally, there is a large development going up along with a huge shopping center here in SW Fla. Once you start seeing that, you begin to think things ARE getting better. How much is Obama remains to be seen. I just don’t see him as a commander of anything.
