His rhetorical claim of being to the left of Swimmer on this issue isn’t really what I was hoping for. I’d kind of like to see actual policy - a bill he advocated for and then signed or some such. But I do see your point - he’s definitely to the left of me there. Barky? Not so much.
It’s hard to be to the left of someone who’s thinks Mao, Lenin and Marx were right-wing rabble-rousers.
I suspect that Romney will sign a law making samesex marriage legal in all 50 states. (You may say he doesn’t have the power to do that, but if he’s signing a law that Congress passed, who is going to stop him? No one.)
I don’t think Obama would ever get the chance to do that, but it’s possible.
