What’s next? Vote the Muslim groups off campus because they don’t like gay marriage either?
Let that be a lesson to all businesses who might consider setting up shop there. You could lose your arse over who knows what frivolous thing comes up.
I was in my high school’s student organization the whole time I was there, 1999-2004. After 2004, the organization really went down hill. We had two great guys that graduated in 2000; a large group that graduated in 2002, most of the rest in 2003, which was supposed to be the year I graduated, and then the rest in 2004.
Maybe it’s not a coincidence that the later years were terrible for student organizations.
Chik-Fil-A should sue them for discrimination. By banning Chik-Fil-A for discriminating against gays by not embracing gay marriage, they are discriminating against a Chik-Fil-A for having a Christian CEO. Sounds about right by the lefts standards.
Actually, I think what they dont understand is the word “comprehend”. Chic-Fil-A’s FOUNDER does not support homosexual marriage [I agree with him]. From articles I have read, CFA hires gays, they dont discriminate against them. So, in the end by kicking CFA off campus [IF they get it done], they are not only losing revenue, but also jobs. Who’s to say the new business will hire back the ones who worked in CFA?
Over the past few months, I have read/heard so many articles/stories.....where the people in the article say some pretty stupid things......and it all leads back to lack of comprehension of what they are talking about or being asked.
Hey everyone, I’m a conservative senior economics major at Elon University and wanted to let you all know what really happened.
The student government (SGA) decided to hold an open forum on the supposed issue of Chickfila on campus because SPECTRUM (an LGBTQ organization) has the opinion that Chickfila should be banned from campus because of Chickfila donating to supposed ‘anti-gay’ organizations.
This open forum was held the day before fall break started during midterms week and on the same night as the VP debate, thus eliminating the possibilities of most business school students or many other students who are conservative to attend due to our midterms or our wanting to watch the VP debate. The open forum wasn’t advertised that much and mostly all of SPECTRUM showed up to the open forum. For three straight hours many of their members gave emotional stories to support their opinion, which is ridiculous. There were some people trying to show the common sense to everyone else there by pointing out that Chickfila is entitled to its own rights. Seeing all the SPECTRUM people there, most of the senators probably felt like they had no other choice but to vote for it.
For the first time I am ashamed of my university because of this decision. I don’t understand how the people who want everyone else to be tolerant of their sexual orientation can’t be tolerant of other people’s religious beliefs. Most of the campus has the same view I do, in the fact that Chickfila should stay and that this decision basically throws the first amendment out the window. The next step is in the president of SGA’s hands, who I personally know. He is a big conservative and has the power of vetoing the motion to suggest to the administration to ban Chickfila. If he doesn’t veto, the administration will debate over the issue and come to a final decision.
Any and all advice is welcome because I don’t want my university to be in the spotlight for this and I don’t want to be graduating from a university who supports this kind of ludicrous liberal movement.

So the college students are violating CFA’s own civil right to setup it’s business because of the owner’s personal belief? Unbelievable.
If I were CFA I would setup the business there & if any of the college students vandelized the property, I’d file some lawsuits
