Police Reports Detail Cleveland Bus Uppercut

Reading the report and the article, it appears this all started because the girl refused to pay her bus fare. She had the money, and later paid it, but only after being confronted by the driver for non-payment. She also was confronted with being let off at the next stop (that is apparently when she evenutally paid her fare). However, she was enraged by being forced to pay, and proceeded to verbally and then physically assault the 59 year old bus driver.

She was clearly at fault, however, the driver's all too efficient defense of himself was unfortunately too effective. He did respond in kind with his own verbal abuse, and attacked her facial scars after she unleashed a torrent of abuse upon him. Mistake for him, in that he sunk to her level, but that is a reality of "trash talkin" in the inner cities.

When confronted with not paying, some people react with almost instant violence. Basically, you are calling them out for criminal activity, and most criminals do not like that one bit.

A few weeks ago, a group of thugs came into our local WaWa and ordered subs. The way you order a sub in a WaWa is to place your order on the touchscreen, they make your sub, and they give you a receipt to take to register so you can pay. The thugs got their subs one by one, and milled around, talking in low voices. When the last one was handed his sandwich, they ran out the door.

Many years ago, I witnessed a group jumping the turnstyles in the Boston subway (MBTA). Back then, you paid with tokens. An older black man (who was wearing a US Navy Veteran baseball cap) stopped the teenagers and told them they had to pay. They pushed him to the ground. Several other passengers helped him up and tried to stop the teens, but it was over in a matter of seconds.

I’m sorry. This man should have received NO punishment. The police cannot be everywhere and we do have a RIGHT TO LIFE. The way this country is moving, you should NEVER lift a finger in self-defense. If I am being threatened by being strangled and then spit on, you better believe there will be consequences.

Couldn't have been that effective. She was back on the bus within seconds, madder than ever. That girl can take a punch.

I don't think our society will get better until we condone a lot of extra-judicial violence. Some people need a beat down. Citizens can handle that task, if the authorities make it clear that after basic review, many of the beatdowns will not require any level of prosecution or paperwork. If you are a bad guy and you are beating innocent people -- the steps should be: arrested, tried, convicted, prison. Same old, same old. If you are a bus driver confronted by a feral passenger, take your best shot and don't worry -- nobody will say anything.

I am sure they will go that path, but have you seen the videos of stores that have been victims of the Flash Mobs?

The stores are assaulted by 20, 30, or 40 criminals at a time, who are literally waltzing down the aisles, taking whatever they wish.
