CBS Post-Debate Poll: Romney Wallops Obama On Economy 65-34%

CBS News did a post-debate poll that showed Obama winning the overall debate 37-30% among uncommitted voters, but in the most important area -- the economy -- Romney massacred the president by over 30 points, 65-34%.

Among undecided voters, the economy is the only question that matters; it's a question that matters a whole lot more than who won the debate.

Moreover, if all Obama could muster was 37%, he didn't even capture his base.

Candy Crowley should be fired. Her ignorance was overwhelming or she outright LIED. What are they paying her worthless ass for if not to keep track of what The Disaster says?

And if she intervened to get The Disaster off the hook then the case for firing is even greater.

Since FreeRepublic was acting up again during the debate, the television had my entire attention. This is what I saw, a massacre. Worse than the first debate. Romney was cool, focused, direct, and answered the questions. Bambi was puffy and bloated, was on the defensive, and spoke in a peculiar mechanical way where he was constantly tripping over himself, trying to remember what he was coached. Lie after lie, wrapped in plattitudes and extreme snarkyness. I knew within minutes that Romney would win, and he did, handedly. So I don’t know what the people on the other side are smoking, but if that’s their idea of a winner, then that explains why they are losers. Mitt Romney simply clobbered zero.

Obama needed a solid win in this debate and didn't come close. This was Obama's last chance because the next debate is about foreign policy. And it will be the same format as the first presidential debate. Romney will have plenty of opportunities to drive home Obama's failures on Libya, Fast and Furious, etc.

“I thought Obama started off ok tonight but he deterioated quickly, especially on the economy, and returned to the blithering idiocy and random babbling of the last debate.”

The reason Obama should lose, that there is no way for the media to conceal for him, is that he has been “playing president” for the last four years. Whatever issue you look at (economy, war, race relations), we are worse off than 4 years ago, and Obama had the job.
