The second debate between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney was probably the most informative campaign event thus far, but surely left undecided voters more uncertain of their choice than ever before.
[Snip]
Obama clearly recovered from his low-key first debate performance, asserting himself early, even coming off a bit smug in the early stages. But rather than engage Romney directly, he seemed more willing to stand up to moderator Candy Crowley than to his GOP opponent.
At one stage in the early minutes of the town hall debate, Romney doggedly pursued the president on the stage. Obama walked away, almost retreating to his seat.

But where Obama fluctuated in intensity, Romney was steady throughout, hitting the president for failing to deliver on his campaign promises four years ago.
Responding to the presidents assertion that his productivity has been hampered by partisan obstruction, Romney cautioned voters that this is a president whos not been able to do what he said hed do.

Romney needed to show once again he was the competent guy you could trust to lead the nation- which he did. Obama needed to turn around a disastrous first debate and an even more disastrous four years- an impossible task.
Partisan Obstruction, BS!! Liar Obutthole had the first 2 years with control of both houses. No excuse for that Liar!
Obama helped himself in that he convinced his supporters that he really does want to win — something that was not entirely clear to them after the last debate. His problem is that those people were going to vote for him anyway.
Romney, at a minimum, held his own with the incumbent. That will gain him more new voters who have soured on Obama but still weren’t sure about that Romney guy.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Obama get a very slight bounce in his numbers over the next few days as his supporters become more energized. We need to make sure it doesn’t cause us to panic though because it will fade quickly.
Romney’s bounce that will almost definitely follow will be both larger and more enduring. At this stage of the contest, that makes him the true winner of last night’s debate.
"Romney, at a minimum, held his own with the incumbent. That will gain him more new voters who have soured on Obama but still werent sure about that Romney guy."
Yep. It would have been another slam dunk for Romney had Crowley not been a hack during the Libya exchange. Under the circumstances, Romney did what he needed to do.
They sure don’t call him “LieBama” for nothing! Muahahah!
Spread that moniker around folks.
That’s because they are ready to call Romney Mr. President now!
Nice thing is, they don’t have to be pushed. They’re falling off on Romney/Ryan’s side.
Good comment.
Yep, Zero had no where to go but up and he will get a slight, but not significant, bounce.
Most average voters don’t care about Libya as much as the economy.
Romney slammed Zero on the economy tonight. Zero’s whoppers
will come back to haunt him (particularly the outrageous fantasy
about Romney wanting to bankrupt GM to kill a million jobs).
Any Zero bounce will be from energizing his base. But it will be
offset by conservatives who will be even more outraged at the lies
and the Enemedia.
True, I just think the Romney bounce will take a little longer to show up.
Obammy’s bounce will come from more energized RATs and will show up immediately. Look for stories in the next week about the enthusiasm gap closing and Obama “surging” in the polls. It will be short-lived though.
Romney’s improved numbers will come from undecideds and independents who took another step towards him last night but will wait a bit longer before making it official.

You’re right that people care a lot more about this than some Muslim toilet half a world away; Libya’s sole value is that it showed Obama is an incompetent liar. Obama will win or lose on the economy HERE, and that doesn’t look good for him; the media will say unemployment is at 1% right before the election, but too many people know better.
BTW, I’ll be using “enemedia” - that’s great! “Enemy”, “enema”...
Apparently this writer hasn't heard about the results of tonight's Frank Luntz focal group.
"A Frank Luntz focus group made up mostly of former Obama voters say they now support Mitt Romney."

"Forceful, compassionate, presidential," one participant said.
"Confident and realistic," said another.
"Presidential," another told Luntz.
"Enthusiastic," another reacted.
"Our next president," one man said.
"Dynamo, winner," said one more."He's lied about everything. He lied to get elected in 2008, that's why I voted for him.
I bought his bull. And he's lied about everything, he hasn't come through on anything.
And he's been bullsh***ing the public," one member of the focus group said."

Romney’s numbers improve with every day things continue in this direction; Obama is in the job now, and will be held accountable by people who no longer see a light at the end of the tunnel if Obama is re-elected. He simply spent too much of his first term pretending things were improving, and now he’s reaping the wrath of people who have watched their standards of living fall farther with each passing year. In particular Obama has governed as though this country has no white population except homosexuals; the phony “war on women” is an attempt to win back women who have watched their husbands, sons, and fathers struggle in this “he-cession”, the effects of which are felt by their extended families.
0bama conceded that Romney was a good man, thereby throwing away millions of dollars of campaign ads portraying Romney as a sinister plutocrat.
Romney came across as decidedly more virile than the skinny, stuttering 0bama.
On Libya, 0bama dodged a bullet and Romney missed an opportunity, but 0bama’s lie about the Rose Garden speech sets up another showdown during the third debate.

Good point. Thanks for the video links.
