CNN’s Crowley plays umpire, then joins Team Obama - “Can you say that a little louder Candy?”
Fox News ^ | October 17, 2012 | Dan Gainor

In the baseball playoffs, the tie goes to the runner. In debates, ties are decided by the moderator and that’s what happened during the Tuesday night presidential debate at HofstraUniversity in New York. CNN’s Candy Crowley made her presence felt as a moderator in a major way on two points, but none larger than the issue of Libya.

The terrorist attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and four others in Benghazi has become a sore point for Obama, but Crowley made sure she called Romney out before Obama could tag him.

When Romney said Obama had not called the attack an act of terror for 14 days,Crowley interrupted and said:“It--it--it--he did in fact, sir. So let me--let me call it an act of terror.”

Naturally,Obama asked her to restate her point and she did.“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” asked the president.“He--he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take--it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that,”she continued.

Conservatives were outraged, arguing that Crowley’s interruption spoiled a key Romney point. They weren’t the only ones. Even Politico’s Mike Allen called the Crowley point “arguable” and pointed to the transcript of Obama’s statement saying it “generally” referred to “acts of terror.” CNN’s John King called the Obama statement a “generic” comment about terror, not specifically calling the Libya attack a terrorist act.

Afterward, CNN’s post-debate analysis team focused heavily on that point and Crowley herself admitted Romney had been right “in the main.” She said Romney “picked the wrong way to go about talking about it.” She also emphasized that each point she made also generated applause from one half of the audience, then the other.

........“I heard the president speak at the time. I, sort of, reread a lot of stuff about Libya because I knew we’d probably get a Libya question so I kind of wanted to be up on it,” said Crowley. “I knew that the president had said, you know, these acts of terror won’t stand. Or, whatever the whole quote was.”

“Right after that I did turn around and say, but you’re totally correct that they spent two weeks telling us this was about a tape and that that there was this riot outside the Benghazi consulate which there wasn’t,” Crowley added.

“He was right in the main, I just think he picked the wrong word,” Crowley concluded. She went on to say that her instinct forced her to correct Romney even though his “thrust” was correct."........... VIDEO

Obama’s debate cheerleader!

“.................Responding to Crowley’s intervention, Obama said: ‘Candy, could you say that a little louder?’ That tense moment saw the audience burst into a round of applause - despite rules meant to restrict any displays of partisanship from the crowd.....”

Jeeze, it’s not like Crowley was going to stick to just facts or anything was it?

Facts could destroy the Kenyan, so they must be obfuscated. Candy’s just doing her job. As we all knew she would.

“Why did the Romney team agree to this pick of mods ?”

Every GOP prez candidate KNOWS the mod will be a Dem lying POS shill for the lib media. It’s how one turns the table against those same Dumocrats like what Romney did is what makes them winners. Bush did it in 04 against Kerry with one of the ABC loudmouth libs as the mod.

Quoting your source further (author is an associate at Media Research Center),

Crowley, who had come under criticism from both sides prior to the debate, also cut off Romney when he was making a point about the president’s "Fast and Furious" gun scandal. And, as in the other two debates, the moderators let the Democratic candidate dominate the clock. This time, according to CNN’s own tally Obama won 44 minutes and 4 seconds to a mere 40 minutes and 50 seconds for Romney.

This is just grossly scandalous. How can we have a fair election with one side's elbow in the scales? The real story of this election will be the backstairs maneuvering by Team Stalin to put their apparatchik in the moderator's chair.

Bob Scheiffer is 3rd debate moderator.

Good grief, I didn't know that.
Dragging that sorry old CBS commie out is an insult to all conservatives.
Screwed again!

This could end up biting them pretty bad.

For every person that watched the debate, there are probably six more who didn’t watch, and who’s whole information understanding will come from the talking heads and politicos.

It is already emerging that Zero basically lied and she tried to cover for him.

Americans in general are not the greatest political minds on the planet, but they know a snow job when they see it...

Who agreed to ALL lefty moderators? Crazy

Technically looking at the Rose Garden transcript Obama said “act or terror.”

Terrorist act vs spontaneous attack is the issue.

Obama knew raising act of terror would confuse the issue and was attempting to mislead.

Romney's people ought to raise hell and threaten to kick out.

Schieffer's a known partisan, and failing to demand a replacement will be taken as knuckling under to anything he and CBS care to dish out. (Remember Rathergate?)

At a minimum, they ought to insist on Bill Plante, who's a lot more the pro journo and less the partisan, or maybe Leslie Stahl, who's more evenhanded. Or, to get to them as the compromise candidates, maybe Team Romney needs to renege and demand Brit Hume or, since it's foreign policy, Judy Miller or David Frum. Watch Barky **** a rope.

Too bad Bob Novak is dead. The sight of him would send Barky running from the room in tears.

Crowley's dirty work didn't help much.

Frank Luntz focus group of mostly of former Obama voters say they now support Mitt Romney

Video Pt. 1 Here

Video Pt. 2 Here

"A Frank Luntz focus group made up mostly of former Obama voters say they now support Mitt Romney."

"Forceful, compassionate, presidential," one participant said.
"Confident and realistic," said another.
"Presidential," another told Luntz.
"Enthusiastic," another reacted.
"Our next president," one man said.
"Dynamo, winner," said one more.

"He's lied about everything. He lied to get elected in 2008, that's why I voted for him.
I bought his bull. And he's lied about everything, he hasn't come through on anything.
And he's been bullsh***ing the public," one member of the focus group said."

At that time the Obama regime was trying to dupe the American public into believing the Benghazi incident was an opportunistc attack originating from a spontaneous demonstration incited by the youtube video and not a planned terrorist attack. Why didn’t Obama use the phrase “acts of terrorism”? I think it’s because “acts of terror” is less precise and would give him more weasel room, but it does sound more governmental than just saying “terrible acts”.

“Candy, could you say that a little louder”

Did he not hear or something? This smart-ass pr9ck came across as arrogant and elitist during the debate, and having that commie hippo shilling for him was almost too gross to even watch. Anyone else think this debate will hurt Obozo’s likability?

“Candy, could you say that a little louder?”

Mitt Romney could have launched lying Little Barry Obama off the political debate “Seesaw” were it not for Candy Crowley's enormous bias unfairly keeping Mitt's legs dangling above the playing ground.

She is a repugnant partisan puke. Romney should have pulled a Baby Ruth out and dropped it on her table when she was interrupting him.

This changed nothing. Still Benghazi-gate festers, fast and furious unanswered, the Obama economic plan to nowhere, $4 gasoline, and a liberal press bias that has the president's back comes as no surprise.

Crowley should be banned from a Romney administration press pool.

All the questions but two seemed to be from David Axelrod.
