CNN’s Crowley plays umpire, then joins Team Obama - “Can you say that a little louder Candy?”
Fox News ^ | October 17, 2012 | Dan Gainor

In the baseball playoffs, the tie goes to the runner. In debates, ties are decided by the moderator and that’s what happened during the Tuesday night presidential debate at HofstraUniversity in New York. CNN’s Candy Crowley made her presence felt as a moderator in a major way on two points, but none larger than the issue of Libya.

The terrorist attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and four others in Benghazi has become a sore point for Obama, but Crowley made sure she called Romney out before Obama could tag him.

When Romney said Obama had not called the attack an act of terror for 14 days,Crowley interrupted and said:“It--it--it--he did in fact, sir. So let me--let me call it an act of terror.”

Naturally,Obama asked her to restate her point and she did.“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” asked the president.“He--he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take--it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that,”she continued.

Conservatives were outraged, arguing that Crowley’s interruption spoiled a key Romney point. They weren’t the only ones. Even Politico’s Mike Allen called the Crowley point “arguable” and pointed to the transcript of Obama’s statement saying it “generally” referred to “acts of terror.” CNN’s John King called the Obama statement a “generic” comment about terror, not specifically calling the Libya attack a terrorist act.

Afterward, CNN’s post-debate analysis team focused heavily on that point and Crowley herself admitted Romney had been right “in the main.” She said Romney “picked the wrong way to go about talking about it.” She also emphasized that each point she made also generated applause from one half of the audience, then the other.

I think she should be fined by the debate commission for lying to prop up her candidate, which she then ADMITTED to! How the hell did CNN even get to moderate a debate? Their viewership is in single digits. No FOX, even though they lead all the other networks? (Not eye-) Candy should never have been allowed to moderate, nor should the Republicans have agreed to a Town Hall in New York. They might as well have held it in Alan Colmes’ basement with him jerking on a beaten up couch every time Obama opened his mouth. And the Code Pinko plant who complained about women’s rights was another jewel for the community organizer. Rigged setup, which only served as a venue for the clown to throw rotten meat to the tards at DemUnderground.

I think the “Candy can you say that louder” was a tipoff that they coordinated this defense, Obama and Crowley I mean. If you read the debate transcript there are a few times where Obama prompts Crowley starting with saying “Candy” and then on cue she either cuts off Romney and/or changes the subject.

It’s very obvious when you read the transcript. The entire debate was preplanned by Obama with Crowley in on it. That Romney did as well as he did is remarkable and very impressive.

Shalom!

Viennacon, and ALL my Fellow FReepers...

I've been reading through all of the threads about last night's Debate, and watched FOX NEWS ALL NIGHT.

I am Surprised that No one has actually said the obvious that:

Candy Crowley...a Blatant Obama SHILL gave the Debate Questions to: The - LIAR - In - Chief: Barack HUSSEIN Obama and to his Campaign Minions...BEFORE THE DEBATE!

This is what I Believe happened last night.

No matter what Obama's Socialist Main Stream Media says...

OBAMA...LOST THE DEBATE WITH HIS ARROGANCE AND LIES!

THE USA MUST VOTE OBAMA AND HIS MINIONS OUT OF OFFICE ON NOV. 6th...WE NEED READ HONEST LEADERSHIP!

We’re going to get a conservative moderator at the next debate, right?

Right?

After the election, Romney should call for a senate hearing and investigation of the drive by media for the partisanship, outright lies, and sympathy for practically all of America’s enemies. The investigation can also include the early 20th century infiltration of the drive by media by Communists and Leftists.

Axelrod planted the false thought in Crowley’s head September 30th, 2012.

“White House officials are now insisting that President Barack Obama has always treated the Sept. 11 strike in Benghazi, Libya as a terrorist attack by jihadis.

“Well, first of all, Candy, as you know, the president called it an act of terror the day after it happened,” President Barack Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod told CNN’s Candy Crowley Sept. 30.

The new pitch is the administration’s third effort to spin the shocking Sept. 11 attack, threatening to discredit President Barack Obama’s campaign-trail claim to foreign policy competence.:

Why do R’s ALWAYS let these big libs moderate these debates? If Candy Crowley’s masterful performance on Libya doesn’t convince everyone with 1/2 a brain that the media is in the tank for Obama, I don’t know what will.

I think the “Candy can you say that louder” was a tipoff that they coordinated this defense, Obama and Crowley I mean.

It actually started before that by Crowley waiting to almost the last questioner to have it brought up. When Romney did the raised eyebrow thing and started to continue Obama tried to interrupt, Romney came back to quell him and then Obama smugly told him to proceed. Look at the video again, the look on his face and the challenge to proceed, he knew what was about to happen. Romney continued and then Crowley picked up a piece of paper right after Obama interrupted again by telling her to read the transcript. It was then she shuffled some papers and started to point to something on her desk to say yes, here it is when she called Romney wrong.

The whole debate was staged, when Obama was the first to get a question, he already knew where he was going before the question.

This whole thing is going to be picked apart like vultures on a mouse through the day and continuing all through to the next one on Monday. Today, the media will be showing the two black eyes, cauliflower ears and be in triage for the bruised kidneys.

The Rose Garden address on 9/12/12 will be picked apart and put into even greater context thoroughly exposing the administration as the lying cowards they and the media really are, thanks again to the arrogance of both. Better start getting prepared for retirement Candy. Your company is about to go even further down the rabbit hole.

I know I've been ill, but how did I miss... Candy's true feelings in last night's extravaganza?

Look, Governor Romney, I cannot express this more clearly... If I am to throw this debate to President Obama, you need to sit down and shut the eF up!

She was IMMEDIATELY able to read the transcript. This was something that would have taken a short bit to find and then to read.

I agree, it had to be coordinated. John Candy Crowley needs to be shunned.

“Obama’s debate cheerleader!”

I’ve said bedore that no moderator after the Lehr debate would let their idol, obama, look bad even if it meant siding with him in the debates when he is outright lying.

Candy you stupid cow, the debate was not about you! The moderator should be almost invisible and barely heard from. When will the GOP learn that debates such as these are lose-lose propositions for them?

Romney must be smiling at his fortune.

His two major goals were catapulted along last night with Obama’s Benghazi lie and Crowley’s support of the lie.

Romney’s two campaign goals are:

1. Defeat Obama.
2. Discredit the drive by media.

Romney should have pulled a Baby Ruth out and dropped it on her table when she was interrupting him.

HA! That right there is Mega-funny!

Imagine if he had actually done it.

I have to agree that Romney won some major territory in this debate. Having the media moderator throw herself on the Benghazi grenade has done more to hurt Obama than a month of high cost advertising. Now the media have been forced to discuss the very story they have tried vainly to smother for over a month. Plus, the picture that will endure is Obama hiding under Crowley's skirt.
