“In the debate Obama said, “As soon as I was notified of the attack in progress, I was on the phone with my National Security Team.”.

This has never been mentioned before.”

I noticed that immediately also. Why hasn’t a single journalist picked up on that? In fact, this past Sunday, Axelrod refused to answer that question.

BTW: Comment from a reader in the Malkin article:

And if you think the bias was bad in English–my Mexican born Wife came in from a church meeting after the live debate was over. She and I watched it on one of the Mexican T.V. channels–the debate had been translated into El Espanol.

She noted that Romney didn’t speak much at all compared to President Obama’s time.

I noted that most of Romney’s time had been edited and the translation cut out his most damaging statements on the economy and the Libyan debacle! Selective editing and out of context work at it’s finest. She couldn’t believe that there was only 3 minutes difference in the 90 minute total time in the live event.

The translated event lasted less than an hour.

I thought this was the line big gaff by Obama. It seems to be going under the radar.

QUESTION: We were sitting around, talking about Libya, and we were reading and became aware of reports that the State Department refused extra security for our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, prior to the attacks that killed four Americans.

Obama:So as soon as we found out that the Benghazi consulate was being overrun, I was on the phone with my national security team and I gave them three instructions. Number one, beef up our security and procedures, not just in Libya, but at every embassy and consulate in the region.

The question was about reports that the ambassador had requested extra security in the past and it had not been provided. Obama admits he didn't provide extra security until after the attack took place (and the ambassador was dead). Literally closing the barn door after the horse had escaped.

Obama never did answer the question about why security wasn't beef up previous to the attack, at the time the ambassador requested it.

It was also mentioned, either here or at the Treehouse, that a communications officer was on the phone from a consulate building, with the embassy AND Washington, during the attack!
