Candy Crowley's Act of Journalistic Terrorism Failed to Help Obama on Libya

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Candy Crowley had to go back and eat crow on CNN. In a real world, she woulda committed career suicide last night, in the real world. In the media world I grew up in, her career would be finished. It won't be now, because she gave it her all for the good guys. She gave it all for the right side. But she committed an act of journalistic terror or malpractice last night. If there were any journalistic standards, what she did last night would have been the equivalent of blowing up her career like a suicide bomber. But there aren't any journalistic standards anymore. She's going to be praised and celebrated, probably get a raise, maybe give her another half hour on that show she hosts.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I have another question, ladies and gentlemen: How does President Obama win any exchange on Libya when there are four dead Americans as a result of grossly inadequate security and protection? How does he win that? I know, I know, I know. They're all saying that Romney let him get away with lying about the terror attack statement instead of the video but the audience isn't letting him get away with it.

Ambassador Stevens wrote in his diary about inadequate security. The State Department turned him down. The regime blamed a video, a movie, and put the moviemaker in jail. Obama blamed the video six times at the UN. He sent the UN ambassador out on five television shows in one morning to blame the video!

How does Obama win any exchange when four Americans are dead and a lie has exploded in their faces? Let's go to the audio sound bites. What number did I tell you we're starting at? Number eight. Forget eight. To hell with it. It's Candy Crowley admitting she was wrong. We'll get to that later. Here's the montage of the regime blaming the video for the 9/11 attacks in Libya...

OBAMA 09.25.12: I don't care how offensive this video was -- and it was terribly offensive, and we should shun it.

HILLARY 09.13.12: This video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose: To denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage.

CARNEY 09.14.12: Let's be clear: These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.

OBAMA 09.18.12: You had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character who is (sic) extremely offensive video.

CARNEY 09.14.12: The unrest we've seen has been in reaction to a video.

OBAMA 09.25.12: It's a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.

SUSAN RICE 09.16.12: It was a spontaneous, not a premeditated, response -- a direct result of a heinous and offensive video.

OBAMA 09.25.12: I know there are some who ask, "Why don't we just ban such a video?" The answer is enshrined in our laws. Our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech.

RUSH: That was Obama at the United Nations. And before that, the voice was Susan Rice, "It was a spontaneous, not a premeditated, response." You know, who cares what was said in the Rose Garden? The bottom line is, the regime, Obama, and everybody under his command blamed the video. But for the sake of truth, Obama did not call this a terrorist attack in the Rose Garden the day after.

Romney was right.

Candy Crowley has admitted she got it wrong. Go ahead, we might as well play it. Grab sound bite eight. This is Candy Crowley last night on CNN. Anderson Cooper said, "Candy, a moment which obviously now both campaigns will be focusing on. Tell us your thoughts during that moment." He means: You know, you acted like a replacement ref in the NFL. You went in and you tried to help Obama. Obama asked you to read the transcript, and you had the transcript!

Isn't that amazing?

Obama says (impression), "Check the transcript," and Candy Crowley had it! Did you notice that in this video? Romney goes out there and says, "You didn't call a terrorist attack. It's on the record. You want to say you called it a terrorist attack?" Obama points at Candy, "Check the transcript," and she lo and behold, she had it! Shazam! The president said to the moderator (impression), "Check the transcript," and she had it (laughs) and she read from it! And it was a lie. It was wrong, and so she walked it back last night.

CROWLEY: I kneeeew that the president had said, you know, these "acts of terrors" (sic) won't stand or whatever the -- the whole quote was. And -- I -- I -- I -- And I think, actually... Y-y-you know, because right after that, I did turn around and say, "But you were totally correct that they spent two weeks telling us this was about a tape and that there was this riot outside the Benghazi consulate, which there wasn't." So he was right in the main. I just think he picked the wrong word.

RUSH: So there's Candy Crowley admitting Romney was "right in the main" but "he picked the wrong word." What word did he use that was wrong? Terror? What word? It doesn't matter. See, I don't think... Well, I can't say it doesn't matter. They're trying to make a big deal out of it. But what he said in the Rose Garden is irrelevant. They spent two weeks blaming this video! Here's Jason Chaffetz, a congressman from Utah this morning on CNN. They had a panel discussion about all this, and Candy Crowley is on the panel and Chaffetz said this to her...

CHAFFETZ: I felt like it wasn't necessarily your place to try to be fact checker right there. I happened to think that your assessment of that was wrong, and so I was a bit frustrated on that particular point. I think you did great on other parts of it, but I really felt like you have two candidates disagreeing; it's not the role of the moderator to try to say, "Well, Mr. President, you're right."

RUSH: So what Jason Chaffetz was out there saying, ladies and gentlemen, is he was getting right in her grill. Right in her grill. He was almost giving her an enema. It was that close. Right to her face. Jason Chaffetz said things to her that most Republicans wouldn't. So, at any rate, they continue talking about it today within the context of Obama won on points. (laughing) I love it. Obama won on points?

Normally, I won’t miss these Debates for anything. However when I saw that Candy Crowley was running the Show, I deliberately didn’t watch it. Due to her, I won’t watch her on TV News either for I just can’t abide her being so one-sided.

The damage has been done. The only voters still undecided will tend to be people who will not go beyond the superficial first impression of Romney being a lying jerk. That does not mean that Mitt can’t still win, but it is another self-inflicted wound that makes victory harder than it should be.

No it doesn’t.

Obama is going for the moron vote, and morons are going to vote for Obama, that is all there is to it.

There is no point in even concerning ourselves with how many morons are going to vote for Mitt Romney, honestly, they are lost in their own blithering stupidity, write ‘em off.

I watched Fox last night. There was a separate focus group of undecided voters watching from Nevada. After the debate and the initial exchange of reporting, the focus group was asked how many had voted for Obama in 2008 - all hands went up. They were then asked how many would vote for Obama this year - only 4 hands went up. They were now asked how many would vote for Romney. Nearly all of the remaining hands went up. When asked their impression of Romney, each member responded with words like: "presidential", "a true leader", "our next president". This group was composed of the average day voter and the majority chose Romney. I fully expect the mainstream media to be very surprised when Romney sweeps the election.

The lame-stream push is NOT WORKING.

Women are breaking for Romney. And why? Because of the long forgotten SOCCER MOMS. You can’t spin who is going to keep the children safe from muslim terrorists. You can’t spin that Zero is nothing but an apologist for this country.

Also, the lame-stream claim that Biden won the veep debates is ANOTHER LIE. Look at the Gallup poll released today with Romney at 51%. This poll took in people who had seen the veep debate and that SMIRK was all Bite-me could do to reply to any criticism of the last 4 years. The lame-stream declared Bite-me the winner but THE PEOPLE WERE NOT FOOLED!

Self-inflicted wound?

Are you some kind of nut?

Romney has been completely dignified in every public appearance.

(unfortunately the same cannot be said for your presence here)

The drama, the contrived trap that Mitt walked into, was theater for the benefit of the viewer who rarely takes time from American Idol to pay attention to world events.

And Hillary runs away to Peru and makes a statement where she didn't to face reporters questions

And her and Obama's lies about the film stirred up muslims in the other countries who never even knew it existed

And Obama hasn't held a presser to discuss the issue

Romney ought to emphasize these points

I THINK THIS IS THE MOST CRITICAL ASPECT OF THIS EXCHANGE THAT WAS OVER LOOKED:

HOW DID OBAMA KNOW THAT CANDY CROWLEY HAD A COPY OF THE TRANSCRIPT OF WHAT HE SAID ABOUT LIBYA AFTER THE SEPT 11 ATTACK?

WAS HE GIVEN A HEADS UP BY CNN OR CANDY ON THE QUESTIONS THAT WOULD BE ASKED DURING THIS TOWNHALL MEETING IN ORDER TO PREPARE FOR THIS DEBATE ????

With the other side promoting partial-birth abortions and a militant homosexual revolution, the voting stakes are too high to indulge my normal contrary contributions here. I think I need to take a break from posting until after the election. Thanks for giving me something to consider.

Absolutely!!

That was my reaction while watching the debate and I tuned into just about every news discussion program yesterday to see if anyone else hat noticed the obvious. The only reference to this came in the form of an email to Bill O'Reilly who dismissed it by saying Crowley knew the questions in advance and brought along the Rose Garden transcript. That does not add up. She had to have tipped off Obama ahead of time. Here's the transcript:

MR. ROMNEY: Yeah, I — I certainly do. I certainly do. I — I think it’s interesting the president just said something which is that on the day after the attack, he went in the Rose Garden and said that this was an act of terror. You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack it was an act of terror. It was not a spontaneous demonstration.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Please proceed.

MR. ROMNEY: Is that what you’re saying?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Please proceed, Governor.

MR. ROMNEY: I — I — I want to make sure we get that for the record, because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Get the transcript.

MS. CROWLEY: It — he did in fact, sir.

So let me — let me call it an act of terrorism — (inaudible) —

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Can you say that a little louder, Candy? (Laughter, applause.)

MS. CROWLEY: He did call it an act of terror. It did as well take — it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea of there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that.

Notice, that when Romney began his response, Obama sat on his stool, calm and composed like a cat waiting to strike. He even responds to Romney by saying: Please proceed, governor.

It was a setup. You and I caught it ... and I'm sure there are plenty of other Americans just as frustrated with the media for short changing Romney by not addressing Crowley for aiding and abetting Obama.
