It appears many many Americans have NO idea what many English words mean..
Like; democracy, socialism, capitalism, communism, Constitution, even democrat and republican..

They(some)have a vague understanding of what these words mean but not exactly..
There are other words they are clueless about as well...
like; government.. they have no idea in this country we have three separate distinct governments.. federal, state and local.. -OR- what legislative, executive and judicial branch of government means..

The Teachers Unions stopped teaching Civics a few decades ago in public schools on purpose to make this happen.. It is not an accident an oversight.. it was ON PURPOSE..

The American people have been dumbed down ON PURPOSE..
by “progressive” control of academia.. Which is not only seditious but treasonous.. Some of them should be dealt with harshly..

You are in good company.

Just the other day I read a letter from the Anti-Federalist Richard Henry Lee. A major criticism of the Constitution was the lack of a Bill of Rights. Aside from its obvious utility, RHL and others viewed a BOR as sort of a text for continuing education in our republic.

The reason some societies held on to their God given rights like a jealous lover was because they were reminded of them often in schools, newspapers and public proclamations. In Great Britain, Magna Charta was read twice a year in public places, not that it would lose its validity without such confirmations, but to fix the contents of it in the minds of the people.

If neglected, we were sure to descend to the pitiful condition of man in mainland Europe, where they accepted their very existence at the whim of a despot.

A republic cannot be maintained by a people ignorant of the traditions and ideas essential to their political happiness. We are very close to accepting the pitiful, slavish condition endured by most men through history.
