DENVER — Colorado voters could be filling out their ballots as early as Tuesday, with 1.95 million ballots now in the mail and on their way to voters across this critical swing state.

Of the 3.6 million registered voters in the state, more than half of them are receiving mail ballots this week.

According to Secretary of State Scott Gessler’s office, 1,950,185 ballots are being mailed out Monday.

Of those, 598,503 are being sent to unaffiliated voters; 673,676 are being sent to registered Republicans; and 654,129 are being mailed to registered Democrats.

I got my ballot yesterday, and it's all filled out, sealed up, and ready for me to DRIVE it to the ballot box rather than mailing it back.

Voted straight R, and NO on everything else, including all tax increases and all BS liberal initiatives.

673k to Rs, 654 to Ds. Romney doesn’t even need Is to break his way, just stay 50/50 and this is a win.

This needs to go viral on the internet, facebook and twitter that Hillary Clinton and Obama are agreeing with the United Nations to tax internet use by anyone using it in the U.S.

Can young people and college students afford this tax? Obama will probably use Executive privilege to go along with this.

Probably not a winning issue. Yes, they hate the internet tax, but it’s not something they vote on. It’s not something they can see yet-—no harms . . . yet.

This data might provide an interesting sanity check on the polling distribution coming out of Colorado.

Independents = 30.69% Republicans = 34.54% Democrats = 33.54%

Oddly they state that 1,950,185 ballots were mailed out, but their distribution only adds up to 1,926,308. I guess the remaining 23,877 ballots are being sent to the local cemeteries.

[tinfoil hat] I wonder if the remaining 1.2% of ballots will be held in reserve if the election is close. [/tinfoil hat]

CO absentees, 673-654k so far. Rs killing it. WHAT THE HELL AM I MISSING? THIS IS THE SAME AS OH-—HOW ARE ANY OF THESE STATES CLOSE with these numbers? We aren’t even counting Is, and are assuming a 50/50 split. If they go even 1% for Romney these are all blowouts.

Can you explain “polling distribution?” You mean the % breakdown of Rs/Ds/Is in recent polls?

Ollie North said regardless of what’s reported in the news, the ballots are getting to the military in time to be included.

Could those 23,877 be registered members of minor parties? Just a thought.

We have to be careful with Co, in 2008 it was +1R.

Take it for what it's worth: I heard from a Tea Party leader, who heard from County Chairwoman/organizer, that the "magic number" they have now in OH to beat Obama is . . . 60,000 votes. That's right. They think they only have to get any combination now of a) R increased turnout; b) D flips; or c) Indie advantage that equals 60k.

That's down from our starting point of 268,000 just a month ago.

Not following: So on election day it should be +1 R and Rs lead by almost 20k votes already on early voting. What are you saying?

Well, what I am saying is that in 2008 the turnout in CO was +1R, +7R in 2004. The GOTV needs to get to at least +4R to be safe.

Don't know. I am assuming their unaffiliated category is based on Republican and Democrat.

OOoooooh. You’re saying that even with +1 in 08 it went with ZEro? Yeah, but remember, I think 08 absolutely sui generis: NO Republicans are going to vote for ZEro this time around.
