WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 to a seasonally adjusted 388,000 in the week of Oct. 7-13, the Labor Department said Thursday, erasing the sharp drop from the prior week. Claims had fallen two weeks ago to a four-year low, but the decline mainly stemmed from a statistical quirk in the data that often happens at the end of a quarter and it was not reflective of a rapidly improving labor market.

The median forecast of 49 economists surveyed called for a rise in claims to 365,000.
CNN looked gutted having to read that out, looked like a funeral.
“In other news, the jobless rate unexpectedly fell to 3.6%.”
Global warming is another example of statistical quirk.
What did they expect after the last number was so totally bogus? That was their shot at saving Barry and it failed.
Ben Stien whom was just on Fox claims this number isn’t bad. He is the only guy I have heard that thinks 400k is the line in the sand for a growing economy. Then again he is pitching a book about raising taxes.

They faked the 7.8% unemployment rate just so Romney couldn’t hit Obama with over 8% unemployment in the debate. Now these numbers show they faked it.
