President Obama is in a fix over firearms. He needs to win undecided voters in the swing states to be re-elected, but these areas are largely pro-gun. So after years of trying to dodge the issue, Mr. Obama let it slip in Tuesday’s presidential debate that he’d push a gun ban in a second term. It’s a revelation that could sway the election.
In the town-hall event at Hofstra University, “undecided” voter Nina Gonzalez asked the president what he’d done to limit the availability of assault weapons. Mr. Obama feigned support for the Second Amendment before calling for regulation of inexpensive handguns, automatic weapons and resurrecting the so-called assault-weapons ban. “I’m not in favor of new pieces of legislation on guns and taking guns away or making certain guns illegal,” Mitt Romney countered.

He will say, Reagan was a great president for freedom but business needs to be regulated. Here he's for the 2nd amendment but he'll just undercut everything associated with it.
His lies make Bill Clinton look honest, and that's a sad thing for a person to say about anyone. O has no respect for the Constitution at all. With Libya, all he was concerned about was shutting down someone's freedom of speech.

I think this, together with Romney’s “tough on China” talk, is going to show a polling surge in Reagan Democrats in MI and PA soon. Within a week.

It has been known since the ‘94 election that gun control is poison to politicians. Obama is not stupid (evil, just not stupid). His ultimate goal as a Leftist is to control the population, something that is utterly impossible when the population has 250-300 million firearms. He has long planned for major action in this area, but not when it will affect his ability to get re-elected. After the election we will see Executive Orders that restrict guns in some way, and you can bet on some kind of Reichstag Fire event that will lead to calls for legislation to register all guns and ban lots of them - plus massive taxes, requirements for safes and inspections (for a fee, of course). This is what awaits us if Bathhouse Barry is re-elected.
I am certain that he didn’t want this question - had he not called for a new AWB, he’d have so pissed off his base that the election would be over right now. He HAD to say what he did, and hope that his earlier “defense” of the 2nd Amendment would obscure his call for a new AWB.
Step 1: ban assault guns.
Step 2: define all guns as assault guns.
I’m hoping the NRA jumps on this Tuesday night revelation. Obama was too busy trying to pander to the mostly liberal audience in the studio. It was a carefully constructed environment he felt comfortable in and he slipped up.
This is an area where the country is decidedly against the empty chair and it will play well in these battleground states.
Assault weapon = any weapon effete leftists consider scary looking.

A very skillful propagandist leafed through the dictionary looking for the scariest, most over packed with dread word and connected it to the word gun.
In that spirit I propose labeling all gun grabbers -
Constitution Rapists.

From what I’ve read, the NRA has been waiting and Obama’s words during the debate Tuesday were just what they needed. They are now blanketing swing states with mailers saying that Obama will take away their guns - not going to go over well in states like MI, WI, OH, and PA where guns are important and just before hunting season too!
Furthermore, I’ve read that the NRA’s ads are credited with winning Walker’s failed recall in Wisconsin.

-bama seems to have trouble brewing on a whole host of issues, in addition to the trouble in the polls. Guns, economy, China, Libya, Iran, Jewish vote, coal and energy voters, ... all are increasingly problematical for him.
I have not heard of counter-problems for Romney.
