A mysterious new microsite promising an "October Surprise" for the presidential race popped up online this week, and is promising to release damning documents related to one of the two candidates.
So far, we don't know much about the site, octsurprise.com, which went live Monday with a linked Twitter feed @OctSurprise. The site warns that "one of your presidential candidates isn't being honest with you," and subsequent tweets say that the site will unveil six pages of "irrefutable" documents at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Blurred images of the documents, which all allegedly relate to the same topic, have also been posted online.

Meet Two of the Developers Behind the Internet October Surprise
EXCERPT
Jeff Hopwood is a developer based in the Midwest. We connected him to the October Surprise through the BuzzFeed account used to post the blurred documents tweeted by the Surprise site. That account, WIOWSA, was previously used to post a link to another website, Partislator, that tracks other political tweets. That post has since been deleted. A Daily Kos contributor named partislator also promoted a site called WhatIsOccupyWallStreetAbout.com, which has since been deactivated but was registered with Mr. Hopwoods email address and phone number. When we called Mr. Hopwood today, he confirmed he was involved with the October Surprise site, Partislator and WhatIsOccupyWallStreetAbout.com, but he denied knowing anything about the coming document drop.
Im slightly involved, Mr. Hopwood said. I work more on the tech end of things.
Mr. Hopwood said that, in spite of his past work on Occupy-related sites, the October Surprise site is not connected with Occupy Wall Street.
Its nothing involved in Occupy. We ended up using a BuzzFeed account because of last minute type things, and that account had some other things on it, said Mr. Hopwood adding that the other activity has since been removed.
According to Mr. Hopwood, the October Surprise site was the work of a group of developers that Im friends with, one of whom had been contacted to create the site by a third party. Mr. Hopwood claimed not to know anything about the people who asked him and his friends to make the site. His only stipulation for them was that the documents that will be revealed cannot be hosted on his server along with the site, because he claims not to know their contents.
I dont know the identity. I dont know anything, political affiliation or anything like that, he said. Myself, like I said, Im kind of limited involvement, and Im trying to figure out what is going on myself, because its on my servers.
There has been some speculation that the site may be part of a viral marketing campaign. Mr. Hopwood said he thinks this may be true because he and his friends were asked to put together the site fairly quickly, and he believes a political group would have been more professional.
I tend to think it might be some type of marketing thing because of the way they contacted us, said Mr. Hopwood, adding that he and the other developers put the site together in like a half an hour.
Ill believe it when I see it.
It's the Internet: I'll be less likely to believe it when I see it.
That site is infected with JS.Twetti-C Trojan Virus
update your DAT files and scan your computer if you visited it!
Romney cruises ancestry websites after his wife goes to bed.
Could have been coke.
Not the drug.
The soda.
But by the time that's cleared up the election will be over.
I bet they are going to show that George Bush had a DUI arrest!
The answer to this is obvious. They need to start warning the public that now that the polls show us ahead in the race prepare yourself for anything to be said to undermine the candidate.
-- Romney doesn't meet the Constitutional requirements for president (he's not a natural-born citizen)
-- Romney doesn't have the intellect to be president (the only way he got into college was through affirmative action because he's a minority ... a Mormon)
-- Romney is not decisive (he wouldn't make up his mind to kill OBL until after it was all over)
-- Romney cannot be trusted (he lies about everything)
... uh ... wait just a second here ...
All your bases are belong to us!

I used to sprinkle it over vanilla ice cream!
Romney had new “binder” (brakes) put on his car....
I listened to the video and posted a comment on the site, which I appreciate you sharing. The libs over there might come after me for stating the obvious:
Romney should leverage examples of “lead from behind” foreign policy to his advantage. Case in point: Iran is closer to the bomb than they were when Obama took office. That translates to Obama handing Romney a stick to beat him with. As well he should.
