Mitt Romney continued to fight hard for women in Iowa today. The We Know Mitt bus tour, which consists of a group of former female cabinet members who served under Romney during his time as Governor of Massachusetts, seeks to correct the misperception many have about Romneys views on women. This comes the day after President Obama held a rally at Cornell College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he mocked the much belabored binders full of women comment.
As Katie discussed earlier today, Romney had more women in high power positions during his time as governor than any other governor in the country. His record on women is crystal clear when looking at the facts, but women still favor Obama. This is changing, and the We Know Mitt tour might help aid this change. These leading women will hold roundtable discussions in the critical battleground state on the importance Romney places on getting women in leadership positions and the roles they played during his administration.
Although the idea of a group of women parading around Iowa saying, Mitt Romney is not sexist seems a little ridiculous, this is, sadly, a needed move. No matter what the candidate says anymore, it will inevitably be labeled derogatory towards women. Iowans will be given the opportunity to hear first-hand from those who know him best why Mitt Romney has a better record for women. It will likely fall on deaf ears for some on the left, but could have a large impact locally where the gap between Romney and Obama has narrowed steadily.
Name one country where the whiney, complaining liberal, feminist women have it better than here in the USA?
This entire WOW BS is epic FAIL for the regime. From the fake contraceptives question Georgie Boy asked during the primaries to the equal pay crapola from Tuesday night, this “manufactured” issue has backfired.
I didn’t have any problem understanding that he had a “binder full of women” who were prospects for jobs in his administration in Massachusetts. What’s hard about that?
Moreover, I think every single American understands that simple English.
I’m willing really, to see such a campaign trying to paint that as something awful. I think it’s silly. I think Americans will see it as silly, and I wonder if it isn’t a sign of either desperation or resignation that this is the best they got.
Axel, Is that all you have????
Can I ask a question here.?
Obama bought two busses at a cost of a million bucks apiece. He claimed at the time that these busss would make it easier for the Secret Service to guard Presidential candidates. Most assumed that he would get one and his opponent would get one.
Romney is protected by the secret service, why doesn’t he have one of these busses?
By the way after the election these busses will be surplus. Let me know when the auction is, I would like to bid.
After Obama loses (and he will.. by a large margin), the analysts will dub this the Big Bird/Binder Campaign. A campaign of small ideas from a president with no ideas.
