BRYAN COUNTY, OK--A day off for fall break was anything but relaxing for a 12-year old Bryan County girl, when an intruder broke into her home on Michael Avenue.

Judging from what’s posted, it sounds like a good thing. Only a liberal could blow a gasket from this.
“God, guns, glory..sorry she will have this in her mind for life, but God Bless her parents for teaching her how to use it.”
I must disagree. When a criminal forces a citizen to shoot said criminal, the choice was made by said criminal - not the victim.
Not being a Libtard, and living in what is arguably the most gun friendly of the states, I assumed she has been taught about responsibility, and when to obey an adult. Her actions certainly seem to support this perspective.
Note that when her mother told her what to do, she did so and with promptness and good judgment. All in all, a good shoot. Having said that, the Lil’ Angel’s aim was less than heavenly.
Range time, range time, range time - range time saves future tax payer burden.
However, in closing, I must note that firing a handgun in a closet is traumatic, causing temporary, and all too often permanent, hearing loss. Hopefully she avoids hearing impairment.
One of the idiot posters on that news thread wrote: “What’s a twelve year old doing home alone?”
This makes my blood boil. My older sister “ran” the house when we were kids. We were effin “poor.” Mom worked nights, dad worked shifts. Older sister cooked, cleaned and kept the rest of us in line.
She was twelve. She could plan and put out a dinner that would make a hunky woman proud. Our mother thought nothing of it, it was expected behaviour.
If she had a problem or question, she ran next door to the old Mennonite grandma who would always be full of answers and support and “old wives tales.” That old woman thought NOTHING of seeing a twelve year old girl run a house. Most of her own grand daughters did the same thing. NO BIG DEAL.
Times have dumbed us down severely.
Oops! I thought it was Texas—it’s awfully close. Oklahoma has great gun laws, too.
My 12 year old would do the same
Not a doubt in my mind
Which is why he sleeps in den with ABD and 44 russian when big daddy is gone which is rare....two prong horse farm defense out here where all neighbors are armed too
Wifey?
Darling thing she is.....but a mite shaky on the draw
She is an Oklahoma girl from Bryan County. That’s North of the Red River.
Okies know how to shoot, too.
I know—I married one of them that things—nearly 51 years ago. He says he wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could—LOL!
He’s from Okmulgee—have you ever heard of that place?
I agree with you! Twelve is old enough to be home alone. I believe that in most states, it is the legal age to be a “babysitter.”
Personally, if you don’t have what it takes to be home alone at twelve, you need professional help.
I do believe Bryan County is in Oklahoma. But it doesn’t really matter. Gun laws in Oklahoma and Texas seem to be pretty much the same.
I confess, I didn’t read the whole article till after I posted. I just assumed the perp was dead. If he’s alive, does that mean he’ll have a harder time voting?
The perp appears to have survived. His name was mentioned in the news clip at the end. I did a quick google and this individual may have been the suspect responsible for an amber alert last year. So, I guess the girl was very fortunate to have shot him. I am glad she had the means and presence of mind to defend herself.
Not even close.... He’s age 32 and quite different looking.....here’s the link:
That’s a tricky one. The original article had him named as “Stacy”, not “Stacey”. The one you came up with, on a GIS I ignored, because the other “Stacy” formerly had the burglary of a habitation rap.
It almost makes me wonder if the journalist who ID’ed him made just the opposite mistake.
Apparently her chores for the day including taking out the trash.
Yes, they should have taken the thug to the hospital on a donkey cart instead of a helicopter.
My late wife was from Okmulgee, so yeah, I'm familiar with the place.
yep, I agree..
