President Obama on Thursday declared 11 Florida counties a disaster area for damage sustained in August from Tropical Storm Isaac. The declaration makes federal funding available to state and local governments.

In September, the Federal Emergency Management Agency refused Gov. Rick Scott's request for a presidential declaration of disaster for damages caused by Isaac.

FEMA director Craig Fugate... basically argued that Florida could handle the costs on its own.

....It was unclear late Thursday why the decision about the declaration was reversed...

A natural disaster in Florida a couple months before the election IS optimal for obama.

There will be nothing but pay-offs in the next three weeks for the swing states.
After all, Obama’s not using his own money to buy votes.

Just wait until we get a look at the Obama-Holder pardon list.

Only to the Tampa Times.

Barry was right. He is the most transparent person I've ever seen.

Kind of stupid by the president to “punish” Florida for electing a Republican that won’t accept his useless train.

Even dumber to then remind everyone of it less than three weeks before the election with a political hail mary.

“The Obama administration has been leaning on Texas too.”

True, we don’t get the handouts as much from Obama, but he’s given us much, much, more in the way of oil prices. Lots of really good jobs thanks to his policies.

Ironically President Reagan may have been the worst president for Texas simply because he brought the price of crude down to next to nothing.

“Their punishment of Texas will NOT change under his watch. “

I knew what you meant...

I bet he wishes he’d given some disaster money to Iowa during the Missouri River floods. People in western Iowa are STILL angry over that.

Don’t punish all of Illinois for what Chicago does, all that mineral, oil etc. is not in Chicago. If he punishes the rest of the state for oil, coal, other mineral rights.....the whole state is done for. Lots of us independent oil/gas farmers south of Chicago.
