I don’t think the attackers took him to the hospital. He was brought in a car, clearly by people (probably security) who had gotten his body from the crowd, since Stevens was of no more use to them once he was dead and they had had their victory parade.
No, the attackers certainly did not take him to the hospital. The attackers had left two to three hours before a crowd of locals pulled his body from the burned out compound.
