"He said Allahu Akbar” Survivors tell what Really Happened at Fort Hood
Right Scoop ^

I had no idea this video would be so powerful before I started watching it. In fact at the moment I’m filled with anger after having heard the stories of those who survived, that Hasan is still alive 3 years after his ruthless massacre – but even more so that they are currently arguing in court whether he can keep his beard!

And then on top of that I’m reminded that this administration labeled this Islamic terrorist attack as “workplace violence” which means those who survived it are ineligible for the purple heart and the families of those who were killed do not get the same benefits of those who are killed in combat. This is outrageous!

Whatever happened to replacing the word “terrorism” with “Man-Caused Disaster?”

"One reason that the court may have been interested in a slow-mo trial is because they may suspect that under Obama there is no way that true justice will ever be served."

Maybe, but I doubt it. I tend to think that the Armed Services has been slowly politicized to a lessor commonsense civilian standard for years.

One of the things I was proud about while serving in our military (1975-1986) was the quick and mostly righteous judicial system. The UCMJ spelled out the parameters and if a service member didn't meet them, they were hauled before Captain's Mast (Navy for non-judicial punishment) or prosecuted by JAG with no delay. I miss my Navy of yesteryear.

I've lost respect for all our Armed Services general officers, except for the Marines. But I hear they are becoming more PC in their training and promotion of late.

At least the spec ops units are still maintaining the hardcore standards needed to fulfill their missions. Bless the SEALS, Marine Recon, Army Delta/Rangers, and Air Force ground combat controllers. Also thank the Coast Guard for the numerous lives they save every year. It's not a small feat to jump out of a helo into freezing stormy waters to save some dipshit from his ill-fated pleasure cruise.

Forgot to thank the most unacknowledged spec ops group - CIA non-official cover (NOC) agents. When a covert military man dies, he at least gets a military burial. When a CIA NOC agent dies in the line of duty, he only gets a star on a wall. Bad mouth the CIA all you want - I respect what they do. Contrary to popular opinion, they have kept our Country and people safe for decades, even with the occasionally missed event. With all their resources, they can't read minds...so some domestic or foreign dirt bag is going to succeed on occasion.

Also, kudos to the FBI for busting that wannabe jihad bomber of the Federal Reserve. The rank and file of the FBI also work hard to keep ours and THEIR children safe from scum. Yes, they are also politicized, but most are dedicated to our Country. However, I do think the that the FBI and especially local LEO's (especially SWAT teams), should have more strict/often psyche reviews. There are too many who get power mad in law enforcement.

And yes, I realize that the DHS and Justice Department is out of control and corrupt under the Napolitano and Holder watch. Another thread.

End rant.

Courts Martial used to make sure proceedings progressed quickly without a lot of nonsense. What's going on here?

Were this your ordinary Courts-martial, you would be correct. However, *this* court-martial has extreme signifigance at the national level, and certain 'marching orders' were given at the outset that certain 'subjects' (for which read: jihad) were *NOT* to be broached. Thus, this case is a real mess.

The truth can in no ways be made public without defying the paramount superiority of civilian control of the military which has expressly forbidden the truth to be made public. This is a real mess...

Hasan’s attorney’s have used one stall tactic after another. Plus, he has changed attorneys, which meant more time, of course. The beard thing has been a HUGE stall tactic. I am glad that the judge here has been so vigilant, though. It has just been ruled that Hasan can, indeed, be forcibly shaved. I was ready to see the judge get the show on the road one way or another; would have been glad to see the judge force Hasan into a burqua or Hannibal Lecter-type mask if the Army had ruled against shaving. Neither the judge nor anyone else in the courtroom should have to look at that animal’s facial hair. But hey, what’s a little disrespect to your fellow Army members when you’ve already murdered more than a dozen of them, plus a baby. Glad the judge did not cave in!!

"It has just been ruled that Hasan can, indeed, be forcibly shaved."

Didn't read about that. Good! The UCMJ has served the military well for a long time.

So why wouldn’t Clause #6 apply to this incident?

Sadly, it doesn't... Per Wikipedia's bio of Nidal Malik Hasan... "Born in Virginia to parents who moved to the United States from a Palestinian town near Jerusalem"

Maj Hasan is, by birthright, an American citizen and he conducted the attack by himself. It really doesn't matter that the attack was "blessed" by someone outside of the US. It was planned and carried out by one individual... and he is an American citizen.

As far as I am concerned, this points out two changes that need to be made. First of all we need to change the rules for purple hearts to include "blue on blue" attacks by those who would join our military and use that access for the purpose of a terrorist attack. Secondly, we need to virtually eliminate any path for residence and citizenship to those who come from countries which are unfriendly to the US.
