Unfortunately, I think you are right. Too many ill-informed college kids there. But, some of the counties surrounding Franklin will go to Romney.
I live in Fairfield an adjoining county to Franklin. I wish all we had to worry about are college kids. Columbus/Franklin has become a heavily populated and manipulated African-American community. Additionally, there is a sizeable lesbian/gay population which is very active for Obama. Kasich made his move against unions so you can forget the public employees vote as well. Columbus has become an extremely liberal area.
