The attack on the American consulate in Libya, spun into “Benghazi-gate,” keeps popping up in political debates — particularly this week’s dramatic face-off. Why did it become such a huge talking point?
Because, ironically enough, President Obama is so strong on foreign policy.
It’s unusual that Democrats have the upper hand on this issue, and Republicans are desperate to gain a foothold. So they jumped all over this attack — with Mitt Romney ripping into Obama before he’d even learned of Ambassador Chris Stevens’ death — because it seemed like their one chance to score points on foreign affairs.
They’re hoping to portray the president as weak on terror. Yet, try as they might to replace “bin Laden” with “Benghazi,” this is clearly not “the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy,” as GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has charged.
It’s true that there was some confusion in the early days about who had attacked us and why. That’s still under investigation. And yes, the administration was slow to give a full accounting of what happened.
But that’s not an indictment of Obama. It’s unfair to assign sinister motives to the way his administration has released information on Libya. There’s no proof of that. The president’s surrogates did not initially declare the attack “terrorism,” but that doesn’t suggest the possibility was overlooked.
The attackers, members of a local militant group, said at the time that they were acting in retaliation for an anti-Islam video made in the United States, without mentioning al Qaeda or the Sept. 11 anniversary.
We have since learned that this was not a protest. But so far, there’s no evidence this was planned by al Qaeda. So it was appropriate for Obama to refer to “terror” in his initial statements...

Don’t worry. Some poor Libyan schlock will get whacked on his way back from the outhouse and this “Giant of foreign policy” will pronounce the murderer of our ambassador has “been dealt a dose of justice, obama style”.
Write it down, it’s already in the pipeline. Never mind that it has been estimated that up to 65 people took place in the raid.
That is just what I thought “This is stupid and confused”.
Mitt just has to reel this fish in on Monday Night. He is hooked and on the line and nothing can get him off it.
It does illustrate the mindset of those who will not reality have any influence over them.

Obama and his minions went on record to categorically deny it was terrorism and to blame some stupid video. The crux of the matter being that it's become increasingly clear everyone knew this wasn't true.
The only question remaining is what was their motive.

Sept 11 2012.....(does sept 11 ring a bell?)..security was pulled from Libya weeks and months leading up to that date.....(British and Red Cross pulled for security reasons)..the ambassador and 3 other Americans killed on....you guessed it....Sept 11....Nobody saw it coming!

I'm not even going to bother to post their endorsement for President which just came out.
It's no surprise that they endorse Obama, but their reason is just jaw-dropping. They endorse Obama because they are worried that Romney will increase the debt.
