Everything that you said makes perfect sense. I would like to add two thing, I read that the two former Seals were at the Benghazi consulate as information security, meaning they were there to protect the information that was stored there, information about military weapons that were sent into Libya by the Obama administration, during the coup, as well as where the weapons ended up, also names of informants (could really be the same thing).

The other thing that I would like to add is that a former military guy on the WSJ comment board, said that they could have had a rapid response team sent in from the US air base in Southern Italy, 450 miles away, that could have been on the ground in 30 minutes.

Oh wow Eva....you remind me of another item being whispered all about.

I know some of you might have mentioned this but forgive as I’ve been chasing Gerald and the shrimp all over the house. But it isn’t being told about that some of our people actually witnessed the attack on the Libyan embassy AS IT HAPPENED?

THAT is something that could never be forgiven by the American people, darn even the media would be given great pause.

The notion that our Pres or Sec of State, or any of their minions, could have watched that happened on live time boggles all of our humanity. There should have been commands going out across the spectrum to get help there.

This is America...we couldn’t get a helicoptor, a plane, something....there to help? Even if it was an impossible thing, an attempt should have been made.

I’m serious, this Benghazi thing is so awful and I’m so convinced that even congress is shocked by it all.

We shall see. Cause it ain’t going away, no how.

Correction. The Information Security Officer was Sean Smith, who served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant.

The other two were embassy security personnel, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy SEALs.

Thanks very much.

Wow, I had no idea about the Italy connection. I thought Shaffer was referring to ships in the area. Great catch, there may have been several ways to get help there.

I would also add that Washington got a phone call, and who answered? And whom did they inform? And why was Libya so unresponsive?

Background Conference Call With Senior State Department Officials
October 9, 2012
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2012/10/198791.htm

“...I neglected to mention from the top that that agent from the top of this incident, or the very beginning of this incident, has been on the phone. He had called the quick reaction security team, he had called the Libyan authorities, he had called the Embassy in Tripoli, and he had called Washington. He had them all going to ask for help.”
