It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that the banner she gave her talk in front of was hung off of a Jeep Cherokee (the XJ, not to be confused with a Grand Cherokee).
XJs were one of the top vehicles (maybe even the top vehicle) taken off the road by “Cash for Clunkers”. I have one (1996 four door with Selec-Track and the straight six powerplant) and have been meaning to get “I Survived Cash for Clunkers” bumpersticker to put on it. Along with an upside down “If You Can Read This, Please Flip Me Over” one.
Anyways, I know a good number of former Cherokee owners who did the Cash for Clunkers thing, and at this point seriously regret having done so. XJs are pretty hard to kill. Unless of course you’re pouring a chemical nightmare designed to blow up the engines down their throats.
Ya mean that crowd of 10 wasn’t there for the speech, but was there hoping to get lucky? :-)

But try to imagine Steve Landesberg telling such existential jokes as:

When you drive a car off a cliff, yes, it’s pretty much unstoppable until it reaches the bottom of the canyon.
If you look closely at the twitter picture linked in the article, she left an empty parking space next to the bannered car for the crowd to stand in. She over-estimated her star power because the crowd did not fill the empty space.
The ten people she addressed were actually standing in line waiting to microwave their burritos.

Reno is in Washoe County. Storey County is next door- to the east. About 16 miles. Prostitution is legal in Storey County. Actually, Storey County is the smallest Nevada county & the income from the brothels in taxes, etc, fills 1/2 of needs annually for Storey County.
Most of the brothels are back off the main roads, and to my knowledge of living in Nevada for 7 ++ years, they re not a particular problem. I am pretty sure they have their own bouncers & don’t have many internal problems.
Meanwhile, Storey County in general and Virginia City in partucular, benefit from the revenue. If you nave never been to Virginia City, it is truly a great place to spend a day. Every time I watch a re-run of Bonanza, I see parts of Virginia City which are still there today.
