‘To create job opportunities we need entrepreneurs who will risk their capital against an expected payoff. Too often, however, public policy does not consider whether we are choking off those opportunities.’

How many businesses went bankrupt due to insane regulations and oppressive taxes, many supported by the late Senator?

RIP George McGovern.

That would make a great short book based on a series of articles. It should be titled ‘The very Expensive Education of George McGovern’ and be built around the record of bills he voted for and policies he embraced and the consequences and costs of the same. Incidentally McGovern's doctoral thesis was on the great Colorado coal field strike of 1914 which pitted the nascent mine workers union against an arm of the Rockefeller enterprises, the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company. When McG was on the way to run for the presidency he brought it out in book form edited with a naval historian friend named Guttrirge and titled ‘The Coal Field War’. It is very interestingly written but it certainly presents an almost Marxist depiction of this event in which strikes proved to be easily as violent as the private coal police. McG also is responsible for the current rat party due to the changes in mandated ‘minority’ and female composition that the party reform committee he chaired after the 1968 Chicago Convention. In effect it invited into the inner counsels of the party the neo-communists that had rioted and made determined efforts to disrupt the party nominating convention. The so called McGovern Reforms laid the foundation for the institutionalization of the neo-communist tilt the party has leaned more and more in the direction of since then . This tilt was one reason Carter was nominated to offset such people with the usual center left dem office seekers. It is also the reason after the 1994 congressional route that Clintigula moved sort of to the center and began triangulating. Today the beneficiaries of McGovern’s ‘reforms’ rule the nation in the Mahdi's regime.
