If you believe the item linked at Drudge, VA is slipping away, and Barry Zero may be on the verge of redeploying assets to states where he can still win. Romney needs to win VA with a solid margin to help George Allen pull out his Senate race. The Romney agenda won’t get far if Harry Reid is still controlling the Senate in January, with a freshman Senator from Virginia named Tim Kaine.
However, the looming threat of sequestration, coupled with Zero’s “ship-building” comments may be just enough to do the trick. The Anointed One may be happy with a 283 ship Navy, but that doesn’t play well in Hampton Roads, home to Newport News Shipbuilding and the world’s largest Navy base (Naval Station Norfolk).
Time to talk aircraft carriers, horses and bayonets.
Wish this were a couple of days later! I will be in Portsmouth, Va for a week starting the 31st of October.
