I worry that if the divorce thing is true Oboingo would get a sympathy vote bump (”Aw, poor guy, he’s getting divorced. I’ll vote for him so at least he doesn’t lose his job too”). Yes, some Americans are THAT stupid.
It’s more like “they had some problems, but they worked it out and stayed together for the sake of the kids”.
