Syria is only going into the hands of the Turks, and before that happens its only going to be transformed into another Afghanistan or another Mogadishu. If you remember, the Syrian Rebels shot down a helicopter recently:.....

Unfortunately, both candidates believe we should be involved. Romney's campaign even gave Obama hell because they didn't think Obama was doing enough to help the Syrian rebels. This was from a top Romney foreign policy adviser in mid-September:

"It's been over a year since the president said Bashar Assad must go.....Bashar Assad is still in power. America looks impotent in the region."

"President Romney would do more to help the opposition movement on the ground in Syria working with our allies - like the Turks, like the Saudis, like the Qataris - to get the opposition more training, more resources, more weapons. Really coordinate the effort. And [a Romney administration] would not have dragged his feet as long as they have..."

We can all talk about it, but both candidates have made up their minds about Syria, and both Obama's and Romney's policies are ones that will lead us to a point at which we are directly involved. In the Land of Make Believe, you can train and arm the opposition and coordinate everything and not get involved, but in the real world, you will get involved at some point if you take things that far.

“Wow, 4 in a row, that was weird.”

That’s okay - then you can have them all covered.

Egypt
Libya
Syria
Iran

I was watching the old movie “The Island of Dr. Moreau” or whatever it was on Comcast On-Demand. Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. Okay movie, and shows what happens when you remove the constraints on man (or man-beast in the case of the movie). Remove the central authority that reigns in the beastly nature and the entire place soon turns into chaos.

So long as muslims are killing muslims, it’s okay with me. Even if they are alewites, I dont care which muslim slime floats to the top so long as there are fewer muslims in the end. Perhaps people remember Egypt just under a year ago. Regime change in that hellhole produced nothing of value to us.

We should encourage muslims to murder more muslims. They seem to like it, are good at it and a world with fewer muslims is a world headed in the right direction. I may sound harsh but it’s only because I know what we’re dealing with.

I was horrified to read that Romney is being advised by the same people who advised G.W.Bush. These are the advisers who told him to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan - exactly the wrong action to take!

There is a reason historians refer to the Middle East as “the graveyard of Empires”. There are no genuine nation states in that region; they are all basically feudal-type pseudo-governments controlled by one family or tribe, and only endure until another family or tribe wipes them out to take control. Allegiences are like shifting sand and if outsiders get involved, they are soon carrion. There will never be ‘nations’ as we accept them until the people who live there tire of the unstable environment of intrigue and violence.

Turkey wants to take over Syria. Well, let them. The Russians will be alarmed, as it has only been a century since they were able to force the Ottomans from southern Russia. With Russian attention on a resurgent Ottoman Empire, maybe they’ll start acting like responsible businessmen and cease jerking around their European natural gas customers!

If the oil supply to Asia is disrupted, we can expect to see China bull their way into this mess.

We must stay out but if Israel requests help then we provide it. Meantime we should be concentrating on revving up our petroleum independence and restarting our industrial base.

The time to help the FSA was a year ago, before they were infiltrated by MB and other jihadists.

When pro-democracy groups rise up, we need to help, not stand on the sidelines observing. That’s what we did with Iran in 2009, and a number of times previous to that.

Freepers this article is an important article concerning the Syrian Conflict and shows how both MR and BO are on the wrong side of the equation. All should read this and hope that MR, if elected will come to this understanding.

Thank you for your responses. I hope to read them tomorrow, as I need to get to bed as I am getting over something and have had a long, hard day. I look forward to studying what you all have to say. My concern is for Israel, Christians in these areas and Muslims who I pray will be converted to Christ out of these barbaric and cruel nations. I have befriended several Muslims and pray for their salvation. God bless and good night.
