Fair warning to all machine voters: Check the screen to see visual confirmation of what you did before you press the final “vote” button.
In New York State they have those new machines where you mark the ballot in pencil, then slip the sheet into a machine, which then registers your vote. I can’t remember if it even shows your actual choices anywhere. I sure as hell wish they’d stuck with the old machines, where you had to close the curtain yourself, pull down the levers for the candidates of your choice, and then, in order to get out of the booth, you had to pull the big lever overhead, which was released I believe by a person sitting outside the booth.
