average home price in Palo Alto area (home of Stanford University) ranges from 1 to 10 million dineros.
And some over 100 mil, too

student parking lot is jammed full of mercedes and other super-inflated luxury vehicles

a Center on Poverty Studies in the middle of such a community is a bit, well, mis-placed perhaps?
