Gas is relativly cheap here (about $3.35/gallon) but diesel is much closer to $4. Diesel was cheaper than gasoline when I bought my 1984 300D in 2005.
That big hike is diesel fuel is another government farce. It takes much less effort/cost to create - but the government wanted the tax hike!
