To me, the scenario that best explains everything is a planned hostage trade that went awry because of the last-minute & unplanned intervention by the 2 Seals. Obama and Hillary had the obscure YouTube video all ready to be used as explanation for the riots that led to the ‘kidnapping.’ But when things went bad, they didn’t have enough time to find a better Plan B, and they panicked. What else would explain that video being stupidly used except a last-minute change in their plans? They had PLANNED on everyone’s attention being on the ongoing hostage situation, not the original cause of the attack.
Also, the web apology by the Cairo embassy BEFORE Benghazi even happened makes sense in this theorized kidnap/Blind-Shiek-trade scenario. Didn’t that announcement by Cairo happen a couple of hours before the Cairo riots, supposedly in an effort to prevent it? And didn’t it allude to the video or am I remembering incorrectly?
Regardless, I think gun-running was likely involved also. If this WAS a kidnap/hostage trade gone bad because of 2 heroes, it was because Obama made a Faustian bargain with Al Qeada to get reelected. After that, the gun running could continue and they could all finish what they started — their caliphate and destruction of America.

The video was already on the shelf, ready for deployment. For reasons we can only guess at.
But, like you, I'm partial to the hostage/trade theory. And I wouldn't doubt that gun-running to the jihadists was in the background. It's not like Barry and Hill hadn't been co-conspirators in a similar plot not so very long ago.
I know it's a conventional "political courtesy" for an incoming administration to ignore the scandals of the outgoing one.
But I deeply believe that Fast & Furious and Benghazi require a complete investigation and full disclosure -- even if the guilty parties have presidential pardons and are immune to prosecution. Because Fast & Furious and Benghazi don't appear to be simple scandals of petty corruption or flawed judgment. Instead, they involve hundreds of deaths, probable corruption of a gigantic magnitude (given the drug trade) and possible attempts to subvert our Constitution.
If all this goes without illumination, the next Democrat administration (or even a Republican one) will push the envelope even further. The American public needs to recognize just how dangerous their government can be.
