The Dishonorable Colin Powell
The American Spectator ^ | 25 Oct 2012 | Quinn Hillyer

Posted on 10/25/2012 11:42:55 AM PDT by Rummyfan

So.... Colin Powell, fulminating about the economy (as if he is an expert on that!) and avoiding all discussion of the incompetence and dishonesty of the Obama administration's handling of Libya, has endorsed Barack Obama again. Gee, what a surprise. This is a man still playing out his personal picque at some imagined sleights during the administration of Bush 43.

But this is a man without honor....

Nobody should give a fig about today's endorsement. Nobody.

Powell is a man without principle nor integrity

As it happens, he is also a man without much specifically military talent. He was Al Haig's Affirmative Action window dressing mannikin. He had a great deal of social ability and diplomatic skill, but as a soldier without Affirmative Action, he would have retired as a Major.

The one chance he had a big time command command was in Iraq, and his "plans" for that are still a subject for mirth at the Pentagon. Good man at a cocktail party.

Powell was never anything but a careerist ass-kisser. Why anybody could respect his opinion is beyond me.

one affirmative action baby covering the other’s ass. colon poowell never commanded at the corps (3-star) level, but somehow he magically got a fourth star... barak hussein soetero sinclair obama davis never wrote anything for harvard law review but ended up its editor-in-chief. two guys who were permitted to game the system back in the day and we’re paying for it now.

Don't hold your breath, look at where they are in charge in Africa, look at Haiti, it's an ethnic trait, too bad.

I’ve never liked that LBJ voting bastard. And I hold W responsible. If he hadn’t made him SOS nobody would even know his name.

He was responsible for not going to Baghdad during Gulf War I. We would have a different world now if he hadn’t been in charge.

Why does anyone care who Powell endorses. He is what he is. He’s a distinguished-in-appearance-liberal-user.During the Vietnam era, he took great pleasure in using his minority status to rise through the ranks and hang out with Republicans....Even though his wife was as devout a Democrat as you can get. General Wesley Clark has finally travelled into obscurity , why can’t Powell go with him? I don’t think I’ll ever forget what he did to Scooter Libby.

Those are places without a competing culture, or where the competing culture has been forcibly removed.

If allowed to succed or fail on their own in the presence of a competing, more successful culture (Western), they will either conform to the more successful, ie better, culture, or they will be comparatively miserable.

The “dishonorable” part about the article is what he did to Scooter Libby when he knew the truth but didn’t speak up. Didn’t Scooter do jail time for something he didn’t do? It was Armitage, who worked for Powell who was at fault. Yet, the libs rewrote history, and Sean Penn made a vile propaganda movie about it. The truth never had a chance. And all of that because of Powell. I was there 4 years ago too when his endorsement announcement was timed to make the maximum amount of harm to Republicans. Fortunately, this time around, his reputation is so much in the trash, that his endorsement is as useful and as surprising as Nancy Pelosi’s.

Colin Powell is just another example of how it doesn’t matter what your skin color is to be a moron! AND, a loser built by affirmative action.

Powell is a “Quota-Black.” Who gives two hoots in H*ll what he thinks about about anything ( aside from the main-stream media)? Thank you GHW Bush for foisting this incompetent upon us.

Powell was probably useless running the State Department. After he got bounced (2004) he was out for revenge and it came in the form of the Valerie Plame affair (and witch hunt) that you can blame on him and his stooge Richard Armitage

Colin Powell is a pariah to conservatives - for very good reason - and a non-entity to a majority of Americans. His endorsement is worthless and for many voters will be met with the question, 'Who is Colin Powell?' The answer? 'Nobody important'.

after Benghazi, I’m surprised Powell would endorse another term.

However, I’ve come to the conclusion that his endorsment is based color of skin... i.e. Racist

Until 2008, I wanted to believe that Powell was above it, but it all boils down to "Its a Black Thang You Wouldn't Understand".

Nobody should give a fig about today's endorsement. Nobody.

Nobody does.

But why anybody would give the time to putting him down when he's been out of the loop for so long is hard to figure out.

He does what he does for whatever reasons he does it, and the rest of us do what we do for our own reasons, and there's not much more to it than that.

Maybe if you could combine parts of Powell with parts of Rumsfeld you might get a decent, useful human being, but since you can't, there's not much point in bothering with them.
