What air field were they flying out of, I wonder? Sigonella NAS, Sicily. 480 miles from Benghazi.
An AC-130 was armed, fueled and ready.
As was a Special Ops team flown in from Germany, on the tarmac, rotors turning.
Plus a squadron of F-18s.
Their "Go" signal never came.
