They worry about their careers, not their lives. But even if their life were at risk and they remain silent, that means two obvious things;
a) our government is murderous and despotic, and will murder a citizen for telling the truth to the people.
b) the silent ones rate THEIR lives as more precious than those SEALs who ran towards the sound of battle no matter the cost.

On thread about Harry Reid accident, someone posted that the accident came at an interesting time and someone posted a picture of Vince Foster.
I don't know about all that, but a president and administration who would abandon the personnel at the consulate IN REAL TIME could do just about anything, I guess.
