I’m in western PA, and your’re right about the union thing in Ohio. We’ve got the same kinda diehard fools here too. But there’s alot less of them than there has been in a long time. I don’t think they swing that much weight anymore.
I’m praying right along with you, sister! :o)
and the Dealer endorsed bamey boy...figures they wouldn’t show the crowd.....don’t want to supress their boy...
I am from NE Oh, like 14 mi from Western Pa.
I know the area.
The demographics are changing.
Let’s face it. They are dying out.
In one more generation I expect a total flip.
I love my home, but it is what it is.
I left 30 years ago.
Garsh.. I bet the Vindicator endorsed Obama too!
Hoover having the best differential doesn’t shock me since I know the state was very close in 1932 while FDR won a landslide overall but Harding has the worst? That’s interesting.
The rat James Cox was also from Ohio.
Wondering how many people outside of Ohio know that the entity you mention is a fishwrap, er, newspaper from Cleveland.. ;-)
As a counter move if you are in the Cleveland area, you can always start a rumor that Obama's white half is related to Art Modell (or have Browns fans forgiven the traitor now that he's dead?)
But what do I know about Ohio, I'm in New York..
ALL THE CHURCH BELLS AND TOWN SQUARE BELLS RING FROM SHORE TO SHORE AND FROM COAST TO COAST ONCE ROMNEY IS DECLARED PRESIDENT ELECT !
You would’ve thought Cox should’ve made it competitive against Harding in 1920... but the blowout was incredible. Every single Congressional district elected a Republican (and Ohio had 22 House seats), along with Harding’s open Senate seat and Cox’s open Governorship. The only Dem left was Senator Atlee Pomerene, concluding his last two years in office.
As it was, Harding carried OH by a blowout of 20% (58-38%), but that was still almost 2% lower than his 60% national win. Of course, it wasn’t entirely Gov. Cox’s fault for such a poor performance, as any Democrat would’ve gone down in flames. Even Herbert Hoover passed on the chance to run as a Democrat nominee.
By the way, Cox’s multibillionaire daughter (yup, daughter) is still alive and is a supporter of Zero (Anne Cox Chambers, and she also served as Carter’s Ambassador to Belgium). She turns 93 in November.
Don't ask me why, I guess some Liberal Ohioans like dead Ambassadors and Seal Team Members.
Probably because there might be a grain of truth to it.
A)Alive?
and
B)A billionaire?
Yikes yikes, yikes times infinity.
Unstoppable hotness right there. I’d hit it (and take all its money and run away).
Ohio scares the crap out of me. I fear that state has been poisoned by the Obama machine.
Kasich’s policies create lower unemployment and the Obama people rush in and claim credit. And Im worried enough people have fallen for it.
Then where the eff is Kasich? Is he out campaigning for Romney since he’s popular?
What about the argument that the folks leaving Ohio have been white,middle-class folks who would likely vote Republican and the folks staying have often been poorer African Americans who will likely vote Democratic? It’s an argument that worries me.
Well, Cuyahoga absentees were UP several thousand-— but R absentees from Cuyahoga were up several thousand more for a slight net gain out of the county-—about 5%.
