GOP fervor for Romney reaches grassroots
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | October 27, 2012 | Carla Marinucci

As they gathered excitedly before sunrise Saturday in the Pleasanton Walmart parking lot, a crowd of California Republicans marveled they'd never done anything like this before - given up their weekend to head to a neighboring state with strangers, and knock on the doors of people they don't even know.

But moved by the passions of the 2012 election, dozens of them - a recent college graduate, small-business owners, the mother of a deployed fighter pilot and a retired engineer among them - boarded a bus for a long trip to Nevada's Washoe County to do their part for Mitt Romney in a critical swing state.

"I'm so concerned for the future of my grandchildren," said Mary Doering, 62, a retired beauty consultant from Campbell with six grandchildren who wore her "O Mitt Obama" T-shirt. She has spent the past two weekends in the Silver State and plans to return next weekend.

"The economy is bad," she added. "And I'm concerned about the immoral lifestyle in this country."

Jack Watt, 52, a T-shirt manufacturer from Hayward, said the dead-heat election has finally moved him to action.

"This has gotten me out of my box," he said, shaking his head. "I've never done anything like this before ... but I feel as an American, it's a privilege to vote. You have to do your duty, and this is my duty to God and my country."

.......................As she boarded the bus in Pleasanton, Ildiko Scott of Danville - the mother of a 27-year-old fighter pilot now deployed in Afghanistan - ..........."I told my son I was going to Reno, because I can't take it anymore," she said. "He said, 'Thank you, Mom.' "

-- Coming Monday: Some of President Obama's liberal faithful are hitting the panic button.

It’s looking like America has had a bellyful of liberalism, moral decay and economic hardship.

Barrack Obama aint cuttin’ the mustard.

Democrats should be asamed of the thing they have backed this clown in doing.

Hopefully the incoming Republicans—Rino’s and all—can read the handwriting on the wall.

"Most Miami-Dade voters back term limits for commissioners and bonds for schools, but their support for President Obama — while leading Republican Mitt Romney — is fading, a Miami Herald poll shows."

".....In the presidential race, Obama leads Romney among likely voters in Miami-Dade by a margin of 52 percent to 43 percent, the Herald survey found. But that might not be good news for the president: Four years ago, Obama pummeled GOP challenger John McCain by a 58-42 margin in Miami-Dade, helping Obama overcome McCain’s support in the more conservative areas of north Florida and win the state’s electoral votes.

“Given that Obama only carried the state by three points [in 2008], he can’t afford to underperform” in Miami-Dade, Coker said.

Romney has a huge 29-point lead over Obama among Miami-Dade’s Hispanic voters, making Miami-Dade an outlier from the rest of the country, where Obama has overwhelming support among Hispanics. The difference can be attributed largely to Cuban-American voters, 76 percent of whom support Romney, the poll found. Only 19 percent of Cuban voters in Miami-Dade said they are supporting Obama....."

Please, everyone, if you are able to go door-to-door, do it!

We can’t rely on polls that show a small margin of vistory for Romney. The Dems are going to rain shock and awe voter fraud on us.

The only way to win is with massive turnout.

We had a potluck dinner last night at a local private armory. Many were members of their reenactment unit, some Legion members like myself, a few guests. After dinner we were asked to speak a few words about ourselves in way of an introduction. One guest, dressed in full attire as a WWII colonel, gave a moving comment on how we're all Americans, and need to do our duty to our country a week from Tuesday. He received a round applause.

To answer the question in your graphic, “Absolutely not!” Nor do I know anyone who is better off.

One problem we have is, too many people consider “better off” in strictly monetary terms. While that’s a part of our problem, it doesn’t take into consideration our freedom, our laws, our future. Far to many don’t think of it in those terms. That’s a message we have to get out.

Losing campaigns spend a good deal of their time chasing after past ghosts.

The schedule of the two candidates for the last full week of this election will tell us who looks like the winner.

I’m certain even the popular Clinton cannot revive O’s fortunes.

Caravans and busloads of Kansans have gone to Colorado and Iowa the past two weekends. The Romney/Ryan campaigns there are well organized and ready for us to use our time efficiently.

The Miami people will not turn out to vote. Obama is recognized as a loser and there is no need to make an effort to go vote for him this go round.

The fact that hope has been lost and that there is no change yields apathy. Voter apathy is the Obama killer

I don’t know why people think that.
He is carpet bombing advertising here, much of it directly at the Jewish vote, telling them that he is a rock solid supporter of Israel.

The Obama ads run all the time

The long days of early voting may have dampened their efforts.

I can see why Obama & the Dems have pushed for early voting—items like Bangazhi cannot change their early vote.
