In round figures, how many folks in State had input/knowledge of all this?

I don't know what you mean by "all of this." There is a large number of people involved in diplomatic security as well as physcial security for our facilities. The office of Overseas Building Operations also has involvement along with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. So do the communications personnel who have security standards as to what kind of communication equipment is allowed in a facility. And State works with the other agencies that have personnel assigned to these facilities to coordinate requirements. There is a large paper and electronic trail that documents all of this. I estimate that there are more than a 100 people who have some knowledge of one aspect or more of the securty situation prior to the attack and hundreds in the various situation rooms of the various agencies, in the US and abroad, that were following the attack in real time.

As Issa has said, they are getting their information from whistleblowers. Eric Nordstrom, the former supervisory RSO in Tripoli, gave some rather devastating testimony before Congress. It took a tremendous amount of courage to make such statements in public. People who don't work or have never worked in the government bureaucracy don't appreciate what it took for him to say what he said.
There are other whistleblowers who were on the ground leaking to Fox. No doubt this will become more public. I hope that someone comes forward before November 6 to nail the bastard in the WH. There have to be patriots who will make whatever personal sacrifice is necessary to get the truth out to the American people so that they don't repeat the mistake of reelecting Obama again.
If people come forward, I hope it is timed after Hurrican Sandy passes through.
