It has been a fundamental rule of Florida politics for decades: Statewide campaigns are won and lost on the I-4 corridor.
Today that celebrated swing-voter swath stretching from Tampa Bay to Daytona Beach is poised to deliver Florida's 29 electoral votes to Mitt Romney.
An exclusive Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9 poll of likely voters along the Interstate 4 corridor finds Romney leading Obama 51 percent to 45 percent, with 4 percent undecided.

Mason-Dixon pollster said that FL was gone for team O.
by the way, ICYWW - Romney this morning has a 13 point lead in Nebraska’s CD-2. Another flip that was assumed but not much talked about.
RE: Mason-Dixon pollster said that FL was gone for team O.
“Gone for” as in what? “Go for” or “Lost to”?
I just posted a poll showing Romney up in I-4, LOL! ;)
M-D says put FL in the Team RR column.
6 points? That’s IT? Damn, there are some dumb ass Floridians.
I think it’s safe to call Florida for Mitt...at least in the I-4 corridor..everywhere I drive- ALL kinds of neighborhoods are Romney/Ryan signs. Yesterday while driving around I saw Romney signs outnumber O signs about 6-1.
Hillsborough County is one of the few blue areas in Florida outside of PBC, Broward and Dade. If Obama trails in the I-4 corridor that’s all that’s needed.
Good news re I-4, Perdogg.
Thanks.
Hopefully most of those 4 percenters are, like Rush indicates, just afraid to express their true intentions for fear of being labeled racist sexist homophobes, and just say "I'm undecided". In the secure isolation of the voting booth they'll pull the lever wisely.
