To be fair, Minnesota wasn't really part of Obama's firewall for his reelection hopes. It was more of a redoubt. It was state, like California or Illinois, which would absolutely support Obama's reelection. That we are even discussing the possible vote in MN, just a little over a week before the election, is a flashing sign of the troubles plaguing Obama's campaign.
Last month, the newspaper's poll showed Obama with an 8-point lead. But that 5-point drop in support isn't the worst news for Obama in the poll. The number of voters identifying themselves as Republican has surged. In last month's poll, Democrats had a 13-point edge in the sample, 41-28. Today's poll, however, only gives them a 5-point edge, 38-33. An 8-point swing in one month is extraordinary.

Romney did an ad buy in Minneapolis, ostensibly to reach western Wisconsin markets, but with an auxillary attempt to penetrate Minnesota as well.
For a Republican to allocate resources in the Upper Midwest ten days out of Election Day tells you all you need to know about the state of this race.
The sample is: 41%D/28%R/31%I
Ob and Romney are splitting about even on the independents with 13% of them still undecided.
That’s got to mean people identifying as Dems are supporting Romney in substantial numbers.

Everything seems to trending to about a seven point swing from 2008. O’s victory margin from 2008 will be his loss margin in nine days. If he’s lucky, he’ll get 47%.

Obama just keeps running into that pesky 47% ceiling.
That’s why I am hopeful there is some legitimacy to the birther thing and continues after he is gone. I’m really not looking forward to this bastard trying to rewrite his legacy. He needs to be exposed.
He is going to get swept away.
