WATERBURY -- When William Jefferson Clinton was running for president 20 years ago, a young Chris Murphy was preparing to cast his first presidential vote.
Sunday afternoon Clinton brought his political star power to Waterbury's Palace Theater to help Congressman Murphy in the latter's tough campaign for the U.S. Senate.
"This man has worked his heart out in Congress," Clinton said at the close of his nearly half-hour speech. "If you want a better economic plan, budget plan, health care plan, education plan, if you want a better future orientation, don't be fooled."

Bill Clinton isn’t that big a hero in CT. Jerry Brown beat him in the ‘92 primary because Clinton couldn’t close the sale.
