Just voted in North Dallas. I know they said the monitors were going to Austin, but I was hoping they would be here. Alas, no sign of any unwelcome foreigners.

I wish there were still actual reporters around. They could ask Obama if the U.N. found problems in areas that Obama lost and if Obama lost the election , would he refuse to step down? If he wouldn’t keep the Republicans from “stealing” the election, what good is it to have the U.N. there? To undermine the new president?

They had a lady from True the Vote that noted that EVERY country sending “observers” to our election requires photo ID to vote...

I voted early this afternoon in the ‘hood near my office.

While I was waiting at the head of the line, a guy cut in front of all of us. He came from the side by the voting machines. There were about 150 people patiently waiting in line and 95% were African-American.

He asked the Clerk for a “key” so he could vote. Note that the way you vote with the ESlate system is that the Clerk checks your credentials, finds your registration in the computer, has you sign in, prints a 4 digit code key, and hands it to you to use on the voting machine.

The Clerk, also African-American, said loudly, “Sir, I’m not giving you another key. I already gave you a code a few minutes ago and watched you vote. Now GO AWAY!”

He was obviously irritated, but ambled off looking embarrassed, nervously glancing at the Deputy Sheriff near the entrance.

I complimented her on upholding the law. She laughed and said, “I’m not gonna let that fool make me commit a crime!”

Now that I have thought about the incident, I wish I could have followed him to the parking lot to get his license plate number and a photo. Unfortunately, I was helping a disabled family member vote and could not leave her alone.

A bit of good news is that ESlate counts how many voters have signed in versus vote totals at the end of the day. If more ballots are cast than voters then the Election Judge for that location might have to explain to the District Attorney how that can happen.

This morning I thought about the incident where the guy tried to vote twice right in front of me.

In retrospect, I should have alerted the Election Judge that the guy just committed a misdemeanor offense by ATTEMPTING to vote twice.

Had the Clerk given him another key code for the voting machine, both he and SHE would have been guilty of FELONIES!

The DA in our county has publicly announced that any and all attempts at vote fraud will be prosecuted.

I was a bit shy about launching a confrontation because the female relative who I was assisting in voting is mentally handicapped and very vulnerable.
