One of the best places to visit if you go to D.C. Really special.
When will they be deserted at their posts?
I was a member of the military for almost 40 years and had the privilege of seeing “The Old Guard Soldiers” on several occasions. They are some of the best soldiers ever.
My Son-in-Law knows those soldiers. He was in the Old Guard. Sadly, he says there are too many Obamabots who won’t appreciate it. They’ll say the money paying their salary ought to go towards getting them Obamaphones. :-/
Note to the Kenyan; apparently we still use bayonets for honorable purposes. Not that he’d know this directly.
A while back I saw the suggestion that such duties should only be performed fully capable soldiers in the absence of suitable disabled veterans.
On the surface it sounds outrageous, but the idea is that it shows a continued respect for veterans, an appreciation of their sacrifice, and a recognition that, though disabled, they are still capable of many things.
Then the issue arises as to which duties would be most appropriate. There are many memorials, museums and funereal duties around the US.
Bayonets!
The clown occupying the White House is not fit to polish the shoes of these soldiers.
I can see 0bama now, ordering that the bayonets be removed from these soldier’s rifles. He’s probably shouting ‘that photo on Twitter is hurting my campaign!’ LOL
If that doesn’t stir your patriotic pride . . .
Indeed, one of the most memorable things to see, ever.
That picture sort of sums up America’s situation today, with FEW of us trying to maintain dignity and hold-the-fort defense of America’s Founding Fathers’ principles (i.e., The U.S. Constitution), in a storm of Communist/Leftist/Progressive Agenda gutter dwellers who want everyting given to them FOR FREE, out of our pockets......
Has he ordered them to Stand Down yet?
Pray for America
I was USAF Honor Guard [not at Arlington] and had to serve at funerals in TX, OK, NE national cemeteries ...
We prided ourselves in never falling out ...
Here is an example, from Arlington:

Liberals will never understand a grown man.
thanks
I “facebooked” it on my FaceBook page, linking directly to the Facebook page the photo is from, without the newspaper article.
Just remember that THIS PHOTO was taken in September and NOT today
Semper Fi!
Twenty years ago my 10 year old son and I sat for more than two hours on a very cold, foggy March evening with spitting sleet and watched in silence the walking of the guard.
Today he and others stand on post somewhere in the world ready to guard our freedom. It is a disgrace that they do so at the orders and command of a sorry son of a bitch.
Ever go to Silver Taps? It’ll make you cry just the same as this.
Duty, Honor, Country stood in service of something good once.
There are military guards all over the world who stand in rain and snow in 5 degree tempatures. They are honorable people.
I remember standing a 4 hour watch on a flight line while in the Navy. It was on the sea wall and the temp got down into the teens. All I had on was a pea coat and a white hat. Damn, my ears got cold!
