You're right - he's past the "I feel" stage - he's coming up on 'true believer'. A saving grace is his mild reference to things he's read that conservatives say... There are hate letters sent to journalists, dem and republican office holders FROM dem war rooms. Years ago I knew a kid who wrote some of them - he told me how thrilled they were when conservatives started commenting on-line - because it was easier to make the letters sound more authentic.

It was during the same time period Rush stated figuring out that a lot of his "I've been a Republican for 20 years BUT..." then the caller would go on to trash Republicans. He spots most of the fake callers now... As you say, it's the same tactics used in Germany - a lighter form for now - and updated by modern technology...

Yes, indeed. The Leftist being almost always a humanist, not feeling answerable to any higher power, has a far easier time accepting the notion that the "end justifies the means." They are not uncomfortable about telling lies, that Conservative scruples prevent our emulating.
