I don't think you've taken the time to fully understand today's homes and neighborhoods. We have these things now, called "Light Switches" that make lights go on in rooms, and something called "Cable TV" that people can watch. We don't need as many "candles" and "transistor radios"...

LOL! I love it!

But what’s even funnier is how you are supposed to use the internet, although so-called smart phones should be an exception, on your home computer systems when the power is out, because the router should take power, I guess that depends on whether or not you have a generator. But even then only a fraction of the homes I know would actually bother using the generator for a router as much as for more vital functions such as the refrigerator.
